Four things:

1) Go with a friend. Then even if you dont want to go, you feel like you would be letting them down if you dont.

2) Make a date for yourself to go (or with your mate), e.g. every tues and thurs (be realistic, start even once a week if you need) then you have to go those days. If you dont have set dates, its easier to put it off. I really like classes (like step, but i know it a bit girly) cos these have set dates.

3) If you get bored, get some music, or I prefer audiobooks, to listen to while exercising. That way I can easily do 1/2 hour on the crosstrainer without noticing it cos im really into the book.

4) Run a points system with your mate(s), good if you cant go together. Whoever racks up the most attendance over the month gets dinner bought for them (inc. beer!).

Once you start to go your body will take over. If you enjoy it then you will not want to stop going, but if you do all the wrong things then you will not want to go. Make sure that you get a proper training regime otherwise you will not enjoy it and also maybe hurt yourself.
If all goes well after a while you will really look forward to going to the gym. And also if you start to see a difference in your body it will encourage you to go. Just look around you, a lot of unfit flabby people. If you are one that stands out, look and feel good then you will never stop going to the gym. But on the other side of the coin, do not over do it as you can do as much harm as good if you over do it. Good luck and enjoy.

Change your name by deed poll from Larry the Lamb to 'Roger the Ram'. It will change your self perception and make you feel more potent, mature and full of testosterone. Don't ask yourself shall I go to the gym, like some lilly-livered game show host. Tell yourself "Now I am going to the gym because I need to".
Positive mental attitude My Boy...... Look Lively otherwise you're already a lost cause!

I ran last summer and lost 35 pounds. I ran everday, ate less, ate healthy, weighed EVERY morning. The thing that kept me going was thinking about how hot I'd look when I was thinner. I couldn't wait to fit into smaller, tighter-fitting clothes. I'd recommend doing a little window shopping and look for clothes that you really like. Imagine a thinner you wearing them and impresssing all the ladies! Hope this helps! Good luck!

Don't think about it, just go to the gym! You don't even have to go to the gym, take a nice walk. I use mypyramid.gov to see if I'm getting adequate nutrition and exercise.
