How do define better? Was life simpler in the 19th century? Probably. Was hunger and disease more prevalent in the 19th Century? Definitely. Were wars less catestrophic in the 19th Century? Definitely. Was there less respect for the individual worker in the 19th Century? Yes. The list goes on.

computers, cell, phones, internet, cable. its only going to get better.
hopefully no nuclear wars, by the way. it is the 21 century.
so your question is. WAS the 20th century better than the 19th.

yes..we have discovered alot more but in another sense the morals of familys and working hard for a living has diminished...
