I love fishing and have fished my entire life. I think the best places to fish for rainbow or German brown trout has to be Shasta lake or Eastman Lake. My husband and I use to write the fishing report for Fishing and Hunting News, and then for our local paper. You would be surprised at how many good places there are to fish in the San Joaquin Valley. You can catch kokanee, trout, bass catfish and bluegill if you are in the right place and of course using the right bait. Right now bass and cats are the hot picks. The canals are the best spots. If you are looking for new places come on down to the valley. Most tackle shops can tell you what the best bait and setup is to use. Have fun.
