I first bonded with Basilina when she was 5 and a half months old. I was lucky, we didn't use protection but I got away with it. The legal age is 4 months - they can buy cigarettes at 3 months. You should make sure that the Guinea Pig is consenting - don't assume silence means yes - this is a legal minefield.

I'm a Guinea pig btw - if anyone asks ;-)

Female Guinea pigs should be bred for the first time at 5-8 months old. If your female is older than that, and has never had a litter before, please do not breed her. Females need to be bred that young, because if they are not bred by the age of 8 months, their hip bones may not be able to spread open when they go into labor. The sad result of this is the loss of the mother and all the unborn babies.

They start breeding at 17 weeks old. A female must breed before she is 1 year old or she could develop a lot of complications during birth. It's best the male breeds before 1 year old also. The female should not be bred after 3 years old and a male after 4 years old.

They mate as soon as they can, but you shouldn't let them until they are at least 3 months old and before they are 1 year. At 3 months they are old enough and usually healthy enough to breed. If you wait over 1 year the females pelvis bone fuses and they are unable to have the babies and if they become pregnant can die.

technically they can at like, 4 weeks, but it's best for the animal if you wait till 4-12 months of age

I had guineapigs before. I remember when my female guineapig gave birth, after 5-7 months the babies started bumping into each other! I didn't think that it was possible because they are still babies but they're cute, they are like colored cotton balls stuck together and jiggling!
