It is very safe. If it wasn't safe Dubai wouldn't be one of the quickest developing and most admired resorts in the world and they wouldn't have built a hotel like the Burj Al-Arab there. You'll be fine, just stick to the tourist areas.
As for the political and terrorist situation, nowhere on the planet is immune from terrorism. I wouldn't worry about Iran, nothing is happening with Iran for ages.

Good lord. I'm a young blond girl who has spent many a night wandering around strange parts of Dubai at night completely sloshed. Boy I wish I could stay in the Burj. It is THE nicest hotel in the entire world. Terrorist do not attack so Dubai. Why would they? They are Arab. I think Dubai is actually the safest I've ever felt in any city, and I'm Canadian. There is virtually no crime there, other then organized of course. And by the way, Iran is pretty safe too. The only real hot spots for terrorism that tourists need to worry about is Egypt and Turkey and maybe London these days. Trust me. Me and my husband are actually thinking of moving to Dubai when we have kids because it is so nice and safe. Plus they have the best malls in the world.

It's extremely safe. In Dubai, virtually everyone is there to make money, so they keep their heads down and work hard. Political extremists are not welcome. Anyone who even hints at causing trouble of any kind is promptly deported. And the Burj is the fanciest hotel in the region. There will be absolutely no riff-raff anywhere near the hotel, let alone any terrorists.
Your biggest problem for safety will be the drivers on the roads. Make sure to wear your seatbelt at all times, especially in taxis or vans. The problem is due to the fact that Dubai has the best road system in the world with some of the worst drivers. So crazy people can drive really fast and cause a lot of damage. And a lot of the drivers are driving on the opposite side of the road from where they grew up, which doesn't help.

Hi, UAE is the safest country in the Middle East so you've got nothing to worry about. I'm an expat here in Dubai for almost 2yrs. All nationalities are here, asians, europeans, americans, africans... And besides, have you heard any violent news here in Dubai? I bet there's none. I'm working as a Travel Agent and I, myself, visited the Burj Al Arab. It's perfect! It's the only 7* hotel in the world that's why it's very expensive.I don't know if you already heard about the ongoing project Hydropolis Hotel, it's the only underwater hotel in the world soon to come.

The UAE is very safe, especially Dubai... Burj Al Arab is a 7 star hotel, they don't even allow people inside.. execpt if you have a reservation... so it's very safe. There's not been any terror attack in the UAE and it has nothing to do with suicide bombings.. it's one of the safest countries in the Middle East. You'll be surprised at how cospmpolitan, global and safe it is. Enjoy!

Terrorism is a threat right across the globe. As for Dubai and the UAE in general, both London, Bali and New York/Washington have had major attacks. None have yet to date occurred in the UAE. Keep in mind that it could occur anyway, you are much safer from general crime in the UAE than any Australian city.

I am from Jordan.
There is General misconception about the dangers of being in the ME.
Dubai never had any form explosions or terrorist activities.
Just because a country is next to a terrorist country, that does not mean it a a dangerous country to be in.
Duba, Jordan, Lebanon, Cairo(but not other parts of egypt), Even Syria are very safe countries to be in.
As for the case of Dubai, there are tons of US, Uk, and EU people living there. So that makes it very safe.

Its one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Secondly, Dubai is very safe city. I was born and brought up there ( lived 18 years). It is the most pro- western Middle eastern city. I guess, from gulf1 - gulf war 3 , there was no protests, no emabassy hostage crisis, flag burning.

The 30% of the amount per night (does not include the Y class flight from Hong Kong to Dubai) will cost me HK$65,520.00 + I have a roommate who pays the 70%, that means he/she has the prority to use the facilaties (at least I think it in that way!). Thanks for the invitation, however, if I have that budget, I would spend it going to alone Japan or spend a week in Europe (London, Florence, Venice, Paris, Nice, Amsterdam,... Copenhagen, Stockholm... anyone of them would be nice!) So, my answer is "NO", I like fair deal, espeically with friends! LOL!!!!!
