The rainbow has colors:
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet (ROY G BIV)

These are "pure colors" caused by very narrow ranges of wavelengths of light.

Hues are mixtures of a variety of different wavelenths, and so are not pure colors. Things like pink or purple (different from violet), apricot, and so on are hues.

ROYGBIV - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Some people also include UltraViolet and Infrared in their colors.
