50% of all sexually active people contract HPV at some point which is an STD. There are more than 100 strains of the virus. It does not have a cure. Some strains go away on their own and there are 4 that can be prevented by the new vaccine. There are some that cause cervical cancer.

Many people do have a std but there are all kinds of std infections, viruses and fungal infections. Many can be cured with medical help! If you think you have one, please try to get to a Public Health Clinic or call Planned Parenthood and ask them where to go for confidential help and diagnosis.
Very few stds originate 'by themselves'. Once in while some originate from poor hygiene or very intimate petting. Some yeast infections are not initially caused by sexual activity, but can be sexually transmitted.
Some easily cured stds can cause infertility if not treated as
soon as possible. Please get help and bless you.
p.s. I note that some people have left out Herpies..there is no cure, taking medication, informing partners, and practicing super safe sex between breakouts are lifetime 'musts'!

Most STDs can be cured, the exception is HIV -- although we are getting closer to curing that one I think.
Nowhere near 50% of people have STDs, although in some countries there are terrible rates of infection.
STDs do not develop in the absence of transmission, if that's what you meant. Safer sex protects you, lots of things protect you. But no, you won't suddenly have an STD.

don't know about the % but yes there are a lot of ppl w/std's and no they can't just pop up by themselves that's why the are called sexually transmitted diseases and yes some std's can be cured with proper treatment and doctors orders.
and if you have or know someone who has an std go to the doctors to help stop the spread of std's and other deadly diseases.

50%??? Where did you get THAT insane statistic? (That would mean your brother/sister would have an STD)
Anyhow... Some STDs can be cured. But no, they cannot self develop.

Some STDs can be cured, some can be controlled. But no, they can not develop by themselves. They are Sexually Transmitted Diseases. They are transmitted through sexual contact or contact with bodily fluids that are infected.

Some can be cured, and some of the ones that CAN be cured always "come back"
Others can't be cured...the damage they 'cause can, however, be delayed with medicine

aids and hiv are not the only stds that are uncurable. genital herpies are also on that category. it can be suppressed but, as the commercial says, there is no medical cure for genital herpies. i am pretty sure hepatitis falls under that category also.
