Razor burn is caused by hair that is pushed back into the follicle. It can become inflamed and then develop into an ingrown hair.
Use these seven suggestions to minimize the risk of razor burn:
#1 Use a clean, sharp razor each time
#2 Always shave in the direction of the hair growth
#3 Shave after your shower
#4 For some using a shaving oil or gel rather than a cream helps avoid clogging the pores (For others a cream works better - experimentation may be needed)
#5 Avoid passing the razor over the same area numerous times
#6. If razor burn appears, apply an aloe-vera based cortisone cream twice a day to soothe the skin and reduce redness.
#7. Use Ingrown Hair Treatment to treat or prevent ingrown hairs when shaving and eliminate razor burn.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Greeneyez... Get waxed. But in the event that you don't want to wax or that you still get some 'razor burn' after being waxed (like me, as I have sensitive skin), I suggest you use a product after shaving/waxing called "Tend Skin". It really works.
I've also heard that by sitting in the bath for 10 minutes or by placing a hot wash cloth on your bikini area before you before you shave, you can reduce the likelihood of getting razor burn.
Finally, the most important thing, I think, is to make sure you always use sharp blades... Change them often and don't go over the same place with your razor twice.
Hope that helps.

Try buying a really nice razor like the Mach 3. Also make sure to use shaving cream and not soap or something stupid like that. Always use a relatively new blade, an old one will tear and pull causing friction.
Don't forget, many guys like a "natural" look anyway. Don't think I'm a perv, just someone who hates shaving and has done a lot of experimenting with the best methods!

I agree with first answerer, get Bikini Zone. The more you shave down there, the more used to the shaving the skin gets, and pretty soon it wont be as bad.
