I have not had to deal with this problem (if it is even a problem). What did your doctor say besides that?
With doctors you have to be very specific when asking them something because they will only answer what you ask and if you don't ask they don't tell.
If he/she didn't say anything other than the kidnes being a little bigger then either call and ask to talk to the doctor or make another appointment to discuss it. Who knows, maybe you are a little further along than they think you are and nothing may be wrong!
Make sure to write all your questions down before calling or going in. Make sure to have someone with you who can listen to the answers. When you hear news that you're not expecting, sometimes...actually most of the time..you don't always hear all of the answers the right way and having someone else there will help you to weed through all the information and get straight answers.
Ask the doctor, what would do this? What does this mean? What is this called? What will happen? Is there something that can be done now? What will happen after she's born? What can we expect at delivery? as she's growing? Is there anything special that that she will need? Do I need to see a specialist now for her? after she's born?.....and any other things you might have as questions. Anything that crosses your mind. Do NOT be afraid to ask the doctor about anything or the nurse. That is what they are there for.
As I said before, it just might be that you are a little farther along and there is nothing wrong. It also could be that they are just a little bigger and there is no problems with it at all...but being that you posted your question on here tells me you are concerned and that concern deserves some answers from your doctor.
FYI...I used to work at a hospital in the oncology unit where lots of chemotherapy was given. Chemo kills rapidly multiplying cells, which is what a baby is.
I did not know that I was pregnant and I was always feeling sick and very tired. My co-workers finally convinced me to go for a pregnancy test at work and I found out I was pregnant! I was so happy. Within a day, I started bleeding and called my doc who ordered an ultrasound. When they did the ultrasound, that doc said there was no baby...only an empty sac and recommended a D&C immediately! He figured the chemo made the baby not grow (even though I didn't take any chemo but it could "soak" through the skin). I was so upset and couldn't quit crying.
I had a wonderful doctor and he had me come in to read me the results from the ultrasound doctor. He put his arm around me and gave me a kleenex and told me to wipe my tears because he said that I didn't have to have the D&C right away if I didn't want to. He said, "you're periods are not regular and we don't know when you got pregnant so we're not even sure how far along you actually are. We're going on the last date of your last period, but in reality, you may not be that far along and if that is the case, then all you would see is a sac on the ultrasound. As for the bleeding, it could be that you are loosing the baby or just an implantation bleeding. If you want, we can wait on the D&C for 2 weeks and have you go home, stay in bed and off your feet except to go to the bathroom. If the bleeding would get worse then you will have to go to the hospital; however, if it stays the same or gets less then we'll do the ultrasound again in 14 days and see what we see or dont see. You make the decision, but if you were my daugher or wife, I'd have you wait a little longer." So I waited and the bleeding got less and less.
14 days later I went in for the ultrasound and there was a baby with a heartbeat! They told me he was small for how far along I was, but my doctor told me not to listen to them...that I was not as far along as they thought I was because they went by my period.
It was a rocky pregnancy, but I had a healthy baby boy 9 months later! That baby boy is now 17 years old and very healthy! Thank goodness i didn't do the D&C!!! It pays to check it all out ...but I know you worry and it's hard.
I wish you luck and will say a little prayer! Best wishes and Blessings!

I wouldn't worry about it until your doctor says otherwise. In the meantime for your own sanity, why don't you go look at the web md site, there may some more information on this there for you. Also look at universities and their medical library. It might help you gain some other information. Good luck.

it seems like kidneys are the main organ they see trouble with, and it is almost never serious, my brother-in-law went through the same with his little one, so we did loads of research... Good luck!
