In sports, just like life, sometimes we fail and it hurts. Yes, it can happen again, or something else could go wrong. But if we just give up when something is scary, we would never get ahead.
Realize that if you try again, you may feel hesitation. You must push through that and believe in yourself. Giving into the hesitation only increases the chances of getting hurt.
Be strong and believe in yourself!

If you actually broke your thumb then wait til it heals before going out and trying it again. If you can remember what you did wrong the first time then try not to do it again. As the coach or a fellow team matef or advice on it. INjuries are part of any game do you love the game enough to get over small injuries?

You should try again. I've recently broke my toe running across a beam and tripping. As dumb as it sounds i still don't like running across the beam. You should still try again because the longer you wait the more you will build a block on it. Just because you hurt yourself doesn't mean you should avoid it, consequently, it should make you go harder for the skill and then you will be more likely to do the skill well. I spent a ton of time trying to get my layout full and I have found, not that i wasn't aware it before, that falling is just a part of the sport and getting back up is what sets it apart from many other sports. You should work drills to get your comfort back or just work jumping on to the table to help make the transition back.
