It depends on the situation. Yes, you can follow your heart in love but you must be smart about it. Example: Would you stay with someone you loved even if they weren't good for you? I wish I had been smarter about love when I was younger because love doesn't always last and there are many things you must find out about a person before making a long-term commitment. It sometimes takes years together to discover those little incompatibilities that make you miserable. Then you end up saying "if I had only known..." By then your heart is so far into it that you're reluctant to make the right decision for yourself because it will hurt.
As far as a job - I think you must follow your heart and be happy with what you are doing. Otherwise you end up feeling stuck in a rut doing a job you hate in order just to bring the money home. So find out what you really like doing and then figure out a way to make money doing it.
For other life experiences, follow your heart. You never know when your time will be up and you'd hate to have regrets that you never did something you really wanted to do, or went somewhere you really wanted to go. There's nothing worse than the five words "I wish I had done..." Be sure and tell those close to you that you love them, and do it often.

I followed my heart till I was 24, it caused some disasters, so from that year on I only used my head, but sometimes I give my heart a chance to tell me a thing or two ,and if my head said it's ok, I do it.

my heart, even though I know I should follow my head. I took my ex back after he left his now ex-wife. He was with me first and we had a child together. My head told me not to do it, however, at the same time I thought what's the harm. Well,I fell in love with him all over again and he wants his ex-wife back, he's in love with her to the point of obsession. If I listened to my head, I would've never had a broken heart again. I am mostly in pain now, wishing he loved me.

This is the major conflict which i have whether too listen to my heart or my head, but most of the time i listen to my heart and my conscience when dealing with personal and emotional things and when i deal with my work then always i follow my intuitions.
and yes when you working then you always need to work with your mind, sometimes your heart which reminds you of our ethics.
And still if i dont know what to do then i ask my parents what to do.

You have to go with what you know to be right (ie. the Bible, the law). Emotions change from day to day and can lead you astray in a BIG way. Court shows are full of people who followed their heart and got burned.

Head, you can love a person soo much but you know when they are wrong for you, so even if it hurts, try to use your head. Your heart will only get you into trouble
