Because some idiot doing 60 on 35 mile an hour road might hit you because she/he dropped there cell phone and when they tried to pick it up they spilled there coffee in there lap and it burned real bad.
When you got stopped and they called the cops because it was your fault. (After all you where driving the speed limit and got in there way. )
When the cops come they smelled you and found your stuff and now you are in jail and they are on the cell, smoking there cig with a new cup of coffee telling the boss they where late because they had to assist in a drug bust!

Good question. My boyfriend is 20, and he's been smoking for a long time. He got this license just last summer. He used to smoke a huge fatty with me, and we would go drive somewhere. No matter how high he was, he would always get that sleepy stoner thing and start to nod of while driving! He would only do this at night. I mean, he would never fall asleep, but you know, you get SO relaxed just fall into a slump like position. That's what he would do while driving. He would swerve when he did that and scare the $hit out of me! He smoked and drove about 10 times, and the last time, when he swerved across 3 lanes on the freeway, I didn't even have to ask him ... he promised me that he would never smoke and drive again.

because any drug affects u mentally- and if u are impaired-- then u shouldn't drive---- that's why we have all these accidents--- why do people insist on doing these kinds of things anyway?
smoking is bad for your health--- so, why should one smoke and worse drive while they are smoking? it's wrong...

The smoke gets in your eyes and you can't keep two hand on the steering wheel! Plus smoking causes lung cancer........throw the cigs away!

As long as you live up to your name, you can smoke and do whatever the hell else you want. It makes things alot more enjoyable.

your reflexes are slower, and you may make poor choices - my buddy nearly hit a bunch of deer on the road and said as the reason he didn't swerve or slow down -he thought they were people!
