It is the same thing as Madona coming out on stage tied to a mirror cross and wearing a crown of thorns. It is meant to shock and enrage people because as long as they can get shock and rage people are paying attention to them.

Most of these "Judges" are very ultra-conservatives who probably would squirm in hearing common street language. Of course they are going to slap down something that they were raised to believe was wrong and a sin. They are locked into years of very old thinking. People who were taught all of their lives that the world was flat scoffed at those who argued against it..even in the face of overwhelming proof. The Church scoffed when Galileo supported the idea that the Earth revolved around the sun despite overwhelming proof that their archaic ideology was incorrect. I think that social evolution is the same. Many people who are locked into old world thinking will scoff at the idea of same sex marriage despite any logical or rational arguments.
I am not gay myself but I feel that gay individuals who feel the need to marry another should have this right as well.

Get your story straight...It was not rejected outright. The decision stated that it is not the job of the Court to make a decision in this matter, it is up to the New York State Legislators, to change the law as it stands today!
As far as Georgia, I don't know and I don't care...I am from NY.

What a sad day when two people are prevented from marrying each other and cheerleaders rejoice. Its just as if it wasn't long ago that the same minded people, rejoiced when Black & White couldn't get married or sit togethers. Nice job bigots!

My lesbian parents' 24-YEAR marriage(although not legally recognized) has been a fad all along? Dang, they're gonna be disapointed. Alas, it'll give me a reason to bring up their leg warmers...
(note: funny how no one answering this question is condeming celebrities and their one-minute HETEROSEXUAL marriages...I would think those would be more of an abomination and insult to marriage. Huh, who'd have thunk it?)

Are you really that ignorant to think that a couple verdicts, or decisions is going to eliminate same sex marriage? I guess if you think its a fad, you must be ignorant. Homosexual men and women are human, and they deserve the same misery marriage brings the rest of us straight humans.
