What is the level of Japan Vs. NKorea? What would happen to NKorea if .....war was the result?

Japan doesn't actually have an army as such. It's prohibited by the constitution that America wrote for Japan after WWII. They do have a "self defense force" but their powers are somewhat limited...obviously, since they're prohibited from actually going to war by their constitution. So Japan has a military force, but not an overly impressive one.
However - the US still has an extensive military presence in Japan. There are many large military bases...some near Tokyo, some on the southern Okinawan islands, all over Japan. And recently the US has stationed two large battleships with missle defense capabilities at their bases in Japan - in fact, those ships were important in figuring out where the missles N. Korea recently fired came from and where they landed.
In other words, picking a fight with Japan is pretty much the same as picking a fight with the US. And North Korea knows that.
North Korea, on the other hand, is poor. There are already a bunch of economic sanctions on them, so their economy isn't worth much, and they don't have much money to spend. Unfortunately, out of the money they do have, a large part of it goes to their military. I'm not sure anyone outside of N. Korea really knows how strong their military actually is, and how much is just show...but there's no doubt that the US is stronger.
On the other hand, the US military is already fighting wars in the Middle East...a war in Korea would stretch their resources. Still, I think it wouldn't be a question of who would win, but how much damage N. Korea could do before it fell.
I don't think it will come to that, though...I think N. Korea knows it can't win against the US, and I think they're still sane enough not to start anything. What they're doing now is political posturing, trying to make their point, and scare people into doing what they want. Hopefully that's all.

Japan and US are already allies. They can erase N Korea from the face of the planet in exactly 13 minutes.

Impossible, remember that no every one loves USA... out there. And countries on the other side of the planet are getting more and more dangerous... My opinion is NO... It wont happen.

the big winner will be uncle sam, for the military hardware profit and after war, economic rebuilding plenty of contract goes to uncle sam company.
