I was originally thinking of plastic bottles, but if you have ideas for glass bottles, that's cool too.

Are you talking about glass or plastic? They can always be reused as containers for water or juice, can make bird feeders, or plant watering systems (poke a small hole in the lid, fill the bottle with water and put it upside down beside the plant) they can be used to make bug traps etc. but once you've done that, you've just about run the gamut.
We were at a recycling fair the other day, and got free pair of shoelaces that said, "I used to be a pop bottle" -- they had been recycled into a polypropelene style material and made into sturdy white shoelaces (with bright green lettering). I think turning them in to a recycling depot is bout the best thing to do with the soda and water bottles, as they can pelletize the plastic and reuse it for things that we can't begin to make t home. Glass bottles can be crushed and recycled to replace sand, so we don't have to keep stripping beaches for sand for concrete mixing.

If the water bottle has that "star" shape on the bottom, I had seen this neat idea of cutting it off, and painting it with glitter paint to make star ornaments for a christmas tree.

you can cut out some small hole and add a stick pushed all the way through and make a bird feeder. These can be painted or just left as is. you can also fill them with water and put them in the tank of your toilet to cut down on water used per flush.

They make mini terrariums. You can make a solar distiller. They make decent funnels. If you fill them part way with water and then freeze them they can be used as reusable ice packs. Cut the tops off and they can be used as pencil holders, bolt containers, knick knack catchers, etc. Put in some sand and rocks and roll them around to use as stone polishers. Fill them with cold or warm water and use them as rolling pins.
