I have done researh and found that Our lovely government that is supposed to be for the people, are spending boucoup bucks on Nuclear weapons, not caring whom they take out. The very same weapons that They are ..'testing' can take out many many people if the wrong word is given. Why arent we protected?? Why is it We are spending MORE money on Nuclear Weapons then on Keeping Men Women and Children alive???

b/c the government wants to rule the world...they are more interested in other people and killing than making sure everything is ok in their own country

There would be no Men, Women, and Children to keep alive without the nuclear weapons. It is like owning a gun. You don't want to shoot someone, but if You are attacked, wouldn't You want the chance to defend Yourself?

Other Countries are becoming more advanced, and developing nuclear missiles. So to keep up with the threat, the U.S. is forced to do the same.

Happen to remember Hiroshima? That was a result of the blatant, deliberate, and intentional bombing of Pearl Harbor. Japan had grown large enough to try and take the United States captive. It took an Atom Bomb to stop the Fighting. No one wants to drop an atom bomb. We would not have to have nuclear weapons if other Countries didn't have them, and threaten to use them. Do you have any idea how many deals are made, behind the scene, the eyes of the public, with other Countries, to keep us out of war? Just because the President doesn't call each one of us individually to let us know the present dangers, doesn't mean they don't exist. People have no idea what being the President involves, and seem to conveniently forget His actual power is limited.

I'm alive and have never been shot before. I look at an american flag, and apparently it isn't a russian, chinese, french, or mexican flag. We have liberties to even bag on the president. I feel very free, protection is, in short, responsibility. Responsibility is making wise decisions. It's easy to blame someone for your problems, But if you have the right to vote, then there is always something you can do about it. Vote for your state represenatives, vote for your goverment leaders. After that it's majority rules. There's more people than just you here. We don't wake up every morning to a warzone. And even if we did, would you say "oh goodness I hope the government comes to protect me" No, you'd try to protect yourself and get to safety. The government wouldn't let it get that far. All goverment problems as of this point, Would seem to be very petty. Immigration laws, A war in Iraq with soldiers who enlisted themselves into the army. They didn't draft anyone or force them to join. I'm fairly sure they knew the risks when they enlisted. God bless them for that. But they're in uncle sam's hands now. It's a choice they made. So how are you not free, or protected? perphaps you don't want to take responsiblity for yourself. Or perphaps you're just overthinking something. How are you not free? have you ever been shot?.As long as you're not hurting anyone, what can't you do? think about it.

Ok, no need to go running down the street screaming "The Sky IS Falling" Henny Penny...

It's not as simplistic as you would have others believe. It's not as easy as "saying the wrong word" or whatever. There are safeguards and checks before any of our Nuclear weapons could be used against anyone.

Yeah, our government is a pack of liars, but we knew this already. It has little to do with Nukes.

Well, what you don't read is the process that happens to launch them. It isn't like the president can just say, "I feel like nuking Racine Wisconsin today. Mr. Nuclear Codes guy, give me the code. I am making Racine a parking lot for Milwaukee." He has to get approval from people to get access to the nuclear response codes. He then has to get the codes, get them verified, and then give the code to the general (or whatever person) controlling the nuclear launch control orders. That person then gives the order to the two people who are actually involved in the actual launch process. Any of these people are not supposed to stop him, but you know there would be someone in the chain of command that would stop that, not to mention all of the President's staff and advisors.

It's all about politics. A big show of force makes the more gullible and naive voters feel safe even though they aren't, and that translates into more votes. Sure, the government's time would be much better spent doing good things, but they don't care because that wouldn't be as dramatic.

I think that's the reason for the weapons, keeping us alive.
Twisted logic but true nevertheless.
