These are some options. Do them all, or add these to your growing list of good habits gradually.
1. Eat 4-6 times a day. Never eat more than 500 calories at any one sitting, your body can't process any more than that at once.
2. Increase your water intake. I use Crystal lite Raspberry, Peach or Plain Crystal light and it helps tremendously.
3. Gradually eliminate sugar and sweets from your diet. All it does it make you want to eat more.
4. Walk for 30-40 minutes daily. If you are healthy, do this twice a day. It will drastically decrease cravings.
5. Eat less bread/crackers and potatoes. These serve to do the same as sugar, usually. It's hard to go cold turkey, try eliminating those things from one meal, then 2, then eventually, it's out of your diet.
6. Up your veggies and fruits. I know this sounds trite, but it does help, especially when you use fruits for your sweet tooth.
7. The more fiber you eat, the more full you will feel. My breakfast is kashi cereal (13g protein, 10 g fiber! little fat) mixed with fat free yogurt. No milk. It's pretty filling - you can even throw in some berries to the bowl and mix it up.
8. Do not expect too much all at once. Aiming for 2 pounds a week is great!
9. Once you've gotten your walking to 2 30-40 minute session, increase the speed.
10. Don't be fooled by Atkins or South Beach. They only make you crazy and you'll want to run back to your comfort foods.
11. Some people find writing down everythign they eat to be helpful. See the site below to determine how many calories you can have a day and still lose weight.
I hope these work. You mentioned you want to lose 80 pounds. Set a first goal of losing 10% of your weight. That's a good short term goal. When you reach it - seriously reward yourself (just not with food!)

I had the same problem... Actually I some times still do... First I started taking Relacore (it cuts 99%) of the cravings... then I also eat about 1/2 of something or a little bit of one the 100 Cal. snack Packs... then I also walk 3 miles 3 days a week... I have been doing it for about a month and I have lost 10 pounds...
My mom did it with out the relacore and she lost 40 pounds in 5 months
Oh and with the relacore the only time I'm really really hungry is when I don't take it... also another thing about Relacore is that you don't feel your heart racing like you do with many other diet aids.

Ok, the best thing to do is eat small meals (5) instead of 3 big ones.
Drink water, instead of everything else.
Dont eat past 8.
Walk around, dont just sit. Or stand while your using the computer.
That should take off 10-20 pounds.
Once you do that, you should be able to excersize much easier. Just keep doing it, and excersize 5-10 minutes a day, then 10-16m, then 19-25m, 26-30 minutes a day.
YOU WILL LOSE THE WEIGHT!
How do i know? I used to be a personal trainer at bally total fitness.
Many of my clients have lost from 10-98 pounds! YOU CAN DO IT!

Michelle-I would guess you are restricting your eating to the nth degree, but here's some good news for you! You don't have to! You are hungry because you are not eating enough. This is NOT a permission slip to go out and eat everything in sight! But there are healthy snacks out there-moderation is the key. Not eating enough is the surest way to defeat your dieting efforts. Plus, if your body thinks it's being starved, it goes into "starvation mode" and actually stops burning calories rather than starving. So you must eat enough every day.
But examine this hunger. Is it real honest to goodness hunger or is it emotional hunger? Are you trying to satisfy a grumbling tummy or a deeper need?
If you feel you must fill up, drink water-keeps the tummy full. Eat high fiber foods-vegetables and fruits-they fill you up quickly. Make sure you get a decent amount of calories daily. Don't skimp on protein either. It keeps you full longer, and digesting it burns calories.

There are many diet plans that are easy to make and delicious for the entire family to eat, and may exercises that are fun. This is all great, and has helped many people lose lost of weight, but in my opinion what helps me do anything is surrounding myself with people that are trying to accomplish the same as you. Find a friend or a group of friend that when you go hang out at the mall and want to go get some lunch or something, would eat a salad and not a double cheese burger, or maybe go walking with a neighbor and encourage each other to eat healthier.

Exercise 30-60 minutes every day, making sure your heart rate gets up and you break a sweat. If you can, find out from an exercise machine or internet research approximately how many calories you burned in your exercise. You'll see that burning 200 calories makes you not want to eat junk food. Use that to help you stay inspired to eat healthy foods and drink only water and decaf tea. You might try the South Beach Diet, which lets you have stuff like cheese and nuts. My friend has done very well with that one, but be sure to read the book and educate yourself. Good luck!

If you need to lose 80 pounds, all you would need to do to start losing weight fast is move around a little, get off the sofa or chair, cut out one meal a day or at least only eat one small helping per meal, and you'll be surprised how much you'll lose at first. A friend of mine took off 92 pounds in about 6 months. She and I had a great time! So, I'm not just blowing air up your skirt.
Then after you've lost enough weight, your body will allow you to do some low impact walking---just try it around the block or in the park---still cutting down the intake.
Drink diet soft drinks or iced tea with artificial sweetener. If you're wanting to lose 80 pounds, I doubt the artificial sweeteners are going to be that much of a detriment to your health.
Eat artificially sweetened anything----don't eat anymore sugar.
Eat fat-free saltines instead of bread.
But most of all---cut down the portions and frequency of you eating. I would imagine you're eating just about all the time in bits and pieces, then you think you haven't eaten much and have a huge plate of food----with second servings.
Just eat small portions three or four times a day of no-fat, no sugar foods. Move around a little! Put on a tape and dance for 15 minutes. Bust a move!!!! Clean your house---my friend had three flights of stairs---vacuuming everywhere, bending, moving furniture, doing laundry, bend, stoop, reach, stretch!! And your house will be so pretty!!! Walking up and down the stairs to music is amazingly fun with a friend! If you live in a one-story, you can get a wooden palette or crate that's about 4 to 6 inches high, put it on your kitchen floor, and step up and down on that to music. Put it near the cabinet though in case you lose your balance.
You can do this. And you'll feel much better!

create a diary of everything u eat. bring the diary everywhere u go and write down how many calories it contains. add them up and try 2 discover healthier foods to substitute the foods that have the most calories. make ur diet healthier. eat an apple a day. drink lots of water. the calories u have each day will depend on how old u r. take a morning jog around ur neighborhood every day. try 2 avoid sweets such as, cake, frosting, cookies, etc. if u eat a lot of fruit and veggies, u can have one treat after lunch. 4 snacks, get celery and ranch. but dont put 2 much ranch. do sumthing fun every 1ce in a while and forget about food and everything.

Do you want to lose 80 lbs because of health reasons? If not because of health it would be good to figure out why you want to lose the weight. First off, losing it will take a change in eating habits, and I don't mean starving because that does not work. To lose you have to eat less and move more. There is no quick fix, don't let anybody tell you that. As for exercise, walking is very good and requires nothing more than a good pair of shoes. If not walking, figure out what it is you like to do and do it. The key is to be honest with yourself. Your opinion of yourself should be all that matters.

I am distraught at the thought of your allowing yourself to gain so much weight in the first place, but I do have the solution for you.
Types of food and portion control are the key to maintaining your weight down and still eating enough to be satisfied. Eat your share of veggies, carbs, and proteins, but know when to say enough. Stay away from junk food, specially sodas, energy drinks, and large size fruit smoothies. It is key not to deprive yourself but you must eat with a purpose. Eat to live, but do not live to eat. Food is a resource, but it can become your master. I also suggest that you have a role model, someone whom you can emulate. Get a picture of someone you admire and hang it on your closet door. Working out is also key. Three times of cardio and twice of weight training will do the trick for now. In time you may increase or change according to your fitness goals. Attending group classes is also helpful since we all need a support group of some type. Above all, realize that this is a lifetime commitment and not some quick fix. Visualize who you want to be and work toward that goal. I know that you can do this.
Finally, live life INTENTIONALLY and blame no one for your shortcomings. We only seem to have time for what is important to us, so TAKE time to do what you desire. I guarantee that you will not regret it. Be aggressive, although considerate. Love and live pasionately. You owe it to your self.
Mr. M on desperate.
