either to pretend that they are older or you get the pervs that pretend to be younger,you cant always tell who you are talking to

I guess some people think other people are scared off by their age... a younger person might think an older person is a predator or molestor... which is unfortunate because there are many older people who just enjoy the 'conversation' and being in touch with younger people.
On the flip-side, younger people might lie about their age so that other people think THEY are older...
If somebody asks my age.. I tell them... but in your case, I'll tell you right up front.. I'm 42. Good question!

Two types of lies
younger -> because growing old is a sin
older-> because being too young is a sin
The perfect ages are 16, 19, 23, 28, 30 and 34 depending on your crowd. It is important to round up or down depending on who you are talking to or trying to impress.

Well sometimes it's because they don't want any pervs on the net trying to locate them and rape them. If they say they're older than most likely they'll have greater security to the dangers of our world.

Probably to the old, they seem younger and vice versa. Also there are probably people who might change their sex as well on the internet.
