Because when we first fall in love we're in denial of ( or "blind" to ) the faults of the other person. We only see what we want to see and ignore the flaws.
Love only lasts when the person is accepted as a whole, faults and all.

They came up with that expression because so many people are against interracial dating. its true love is blind it is a feeling that has so many feelings and meanings in itself. This four letter word means so many other things. Love of family, love of friends, love of associates, and the more important love of all that is part of the meaning of life, love of your mate. The one person who you want and give love to. its a part of human nature. We are the only species that care about love and get so jealous over eveything. Thats part of us, to find a stranger and eventually fall in love and have a family. One of the biggest accomplishments you can have. Love is wonderful when you find it, they feel the same way, and it lasts forever.

Love is blind, because no matter what the situation you still Love that person. Love doesnt care how fat skinny ugly handsome gorgeous rich poor stupid smart witty that person is. it is a strong connection that no looks or ne thing else can stop. Love doesnt look at those things.

Your question makes no sense. "Love is blind" refers to the fact that physical traits shouldn't affect love. Why would that mean that people can't be in love?

first of all what is love? to me its just a word, its your action that makes the word come alive, all the nice and wonderful things you can think of when your with that person is love (your state of mind) its an awesome feeling, but anyways i also agree with (it blinds us from flaws)

Honey,The statement means love makes you blind to another's faults and flaws.... in other words there is woman out there getting beat up by ther man, but they are still with them... and they still love them.... or someone is cheating on you right in your face.. and you can't see it... love is blinding you... you feel me....

"Love is blind," in my opinion, means that people overlook the faults of the person they love. That's okay if the faults are only little annoyances - but not if there is any type of abuse (including mental abuse) going on.
