The Mythbusters, on the Discovery Channel, already tried that. They proved that a lot of the plans on the Internet don't work. They made their own hoverboards using vacuum cleaner blowers.

You need a strong, light base (like a surfboard), you need a strong, flexible, skirt to hold the air pressure (try rubber). The vacuums cleaner blowers need to create an air bubble under your base, the skirt has to hold it in an only let it out on the bottom; this creates the needed lift. Then another blower can be used to drive the machine forward. You will need 5 or more blowers. They got theirs from a junk shop. Then you will need a good power supply. You can use a DC power supply and batteries (look into a lot of lithium batteries they will be lighter than Car Batteries--you could find them from junked or obsolete Notebook Computers), or use a transformer for an AC power supply with a very long extension cord. Check out the blowers that gardeners use, you need the lightest power to weight ratio.

In the Mythbuster experiments they didn't get much lift. They needed a very smooth ground to go across, so they went to the beach.

Or you could borrow the DeLorean with the Time Flux Converter and go back to the future to pick up one.

i know how u build a hover board (u need to do this on not a big slope but a small 1 and this will not look like it is hovering but u will be able to go down ur driveway unless something is in the way) first u need to get a piece of wood in a circle that is big enough 4 u 2 sit on then u have to get a leaf blower and trace the circle of the part where the air comes out and then after u trace it cut that part out then take a blanket that fits around the entire hover board and on the side that u sit on (the side that the blanket covers the entire side of) cut the blanket where u traced the leaf blower and (u dont sit on it yet!) u put the leaf blower in the hole and u sit on it after u turn the leaf blower on and u ride down ur driveway
