depends on what genre you like, I love horror and thriller and can recommend authors of these:
anything Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Dean Koontz.
the Alex Cross series by James Patterson.
the Kate Branigan series or Tony Hill series by Val McDermid.
the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell.

other than that I have a lot of those comedy/romance "fluff" books to give my head a break from the heavier stuff.

The Bible is an all around good book for helping you with life's questions.

If you like politics, Tucker Carlson (a political pundit with a show on MSNBC) wrote a tremendously funny book that I just read called "Politicians, Partisans and Parasites." I highly recommend it.

Depend upon what you are looking for I really like Dean Kountz especially Intensity ( I read that book in two days it was so good) I also really liked Leon Uris's Queens Bench IV also known as QB IV. He has a bunch of other books as well that are good.

I enjoy reading the Bible, because every time I'm reading it - it speaks to me.

Besides the Bible I don't really like reading other books that much, because they are written by people, who don't always know more then you do. I think reading men written books is a waist of time, especially if it's fiction. People read those, cuz they don't have anything else to do.
