i would totally understand but they are 30 minutes from the lake when they are in Vegas. Its not like Im going alone i still have my bf and a few other people. It was shocking to hear that they werent going since we planned the entire trip with them.

Well, they probably have no extra spending money to travel to Lake Mead. They have already booked and paid for the hotel.

It is rude, but this is a good indication of what your friends are really like, and I would personally start reconsidering my friendship.

Which plan did they make first? Sounds like the Vegas plan first. And they probably thought that they can still do the Lake Mead thing when they got back. But as life goes, s@#t happens. They could have ended up spending more money in Vegas (which is not unheard of) than they had planned. And really can't afford to go on another trip.

As a friend, you should take this into consideration. It would be selfish not to. Plus I'm sure you have other friends going to the lake with you.

IF they are blowing you off and not being honest about it, well, at least you know now than later. Screw them, you don't need friends like that. But be sure first.

Hard to say...Real friends always say the truth. They told you they cannot go. Vegas might be cheaper, really. On July 4th we went to the lake with family and friends. They said that it is 4 day stay and it will cost $2500!!! We had to pay $1000 (our part). It is very expensive.
I just say that as an example. Your stay may be less, or may be more. So if they go to Vegas, they will spend some money and will not be able to afford another trip. Looks like true. It might be a little to late notice, but what can you do? I think you should not take it too hard. Remember - it is easy to loose friend and toooooo hard to find one.

I don't think calling you ahead of time was rude at all. Not showing up at all would have been rude.

They probably had time to sit and count what they had left after several days in Vegas, looked at what they still wanted to do on their vacation and decided against it. I would say that's pretty good.

Sorry.

It is a little rude...To be honest I would be pissed off since they are going to vegas you should really talk to them and tell them and maybe you can solve it with them and thenfind out ways for them to save money so they can come.

Very rude considering they will be spending money in Vegas gambling. Sounds more like they do not want to hang out with you.

i thinkk that if they are your friends you should tell them that you are a little disappointed but you understand that they are in vegas and are going to blow all there money on the slots instead of having a great time with you that will make them feel a little guilty but they will say that they are sorry.
