The was a cartoon about Speedy the race car who was chased around by a gang of chopper bikes. That was the 80's. There was also a dune buggy called Speed Buggy that was in a couple of scooby cartoons but I believe that was late 70's. That is it as far as I know.
Speed racer was a guy who raced around in the mach 1.
