diving does exist in other sports, consider basketball, player drives the lane, gets bumped, arms go flailing, he lets out an ape scream, falls on his back. or how about all the joke charging/player control fouls. you are telling me it is that easy to knock down a strong full grown professional athlete. or how about wide receivers in football trying to draw a pass interference call? it does exist, this is just the biggest stage in the world and every foul call in the world cup is being watched by millions and millions of people. at any professional sport level, the action is so fact and so strong, anything to make the referee think something happen, he has to call it, he doesnt get the liberty of watching 10 slow motion replays as do all the fans.

yea this world cup is been ridiculous but they might do it for the attention of the ref since soccer is on going theyll keep play while your there limping if nobody notices and the ones that arnt hurt take advantage the soccer refs dont get to see any replays

Because they get away with it. The referees are well aware of who these cheaters are but they're not watching them closely. Fifa is also to blame for not enforcing this problem with heavy fines and suspensions. Hopefully they will introduce instant replay soon, so we can get rid of these crooks, we all know who they are.

Because if they sell it well enough and the ref is bad, they get a free kick. And more than half of all goals are scored on set pieces.
