No way.
Joe Jackson got 12 hits in that series, not to mention that it was the baseball comissioner, the 1st one at that, who banned Shoeless Joe. It wasn't the courts, and it went against the public's opinion.
Even Babe Ruth copied Joe Jackson's style.
Babe has been quoted as saying that Jackson was the greatest natural hitter he'd ever seen, and copied his style.
Someone who get 12 hits in a series is NOT trying to throw a game.

Every self respecting baseball fan agrees that Joe Jackson did not throw the 1919 World Series. However at the time, the very first commisioner of baseball was being put in, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Being a judge he was the strictest comissioner ever, I mean he made all spit balls and putting substances on the ball illegal. When he first came into the office of commissioner, he wanted to make sure that everybody knew the cheating would not be tolerable. At the time, Joe Jackson was one of the best players in the game, if not the best. Landis wanted everybody to know that even the best players were not above the laws of baseball. Nowadays, some people people would consider it an insult to the image of Landis if Joe Jackson was put in the Hall of Fame.

believe it or not, i actually did a report on this subject.....wether or not shoeless joe really did throw the world series.....what i found was that after a few weeks of knowing about the scandal, he wanted out....the head of the league, who was Kenesaw Mountain Landis at the time, said that since jackson knew about the scandal that he still should have alerted the head of the team who was Charles Comiskey......jackson said that he didn't throw the series, but statistics show that he did worse in the world series than in the whole season........i guess nobody really knows if he did or not.....just a little insight

Let's look at the facts. He couldn't read, he didn't accept the money, he batted over like .400 in the series and was the only player not to make an error.
If you believed he did throw it then I think you'd be crazy ...

There's no way. He had the highest batting average of BOTH teams in that series. He hit .375 and had five outfield assists.

No. Research shows that he did not throw the world series, but some of his teammates did.
