Could be a hormonal imbalance, or an anovulatory cycle (a cycle where ovulation does not take place). I had the same thing happen to my on my last cycle. My period did not come, and I had all pregnant symptoms (I've been pregnant before so I know what it's like to be pregnant). My hubby and I had just started trying so we thought for sure we were pregnant. 3 home pregnancy tests (taken on 3 different days) were all negative. I finally went to see my OBGYN, took another test, it was negative. My doctor told me that I probably had an anovulatory cycle - which can make me miss my period and give me pregnant-like symptoms. He said to watch and wait for my next cycle to see if my period comes - he also told me that it'll most likely correct itself on its own. A few days after, I had some bleeding which I took to be my period, just over a month late. The symptoms also subsided as soon as the "period" came.

A negative blood test means that you are not pregnant -blood tests are so much more accurate than urine tests, so much so that if no pregnancy hormone was detected in the blood test, then you are not pregnant. The margin of error is small.

Talk to your doctor again and see what he/she thinks, or maybe you can wait for your next cycle to come and see what's going on.

Goodluck!

There are many things it could be. It could be that the test was a false negative and you actually are pregnant. It could be stress related. Or it could be a false pregnancy in which case your body thinks it is pregnant, but it's not. If it is a false pregnancy, then it will go away by the third month. I have known a few women who have ended up with false pregnancies, it is actually quite common. If it is stress related, once things are calmed down and your body has gotten over the "flight or fight" response, then your period will start soon after. If it turns out that you had a false negative, which is very common, usually more so with urine tests rather than blood tests, then your test will show up positive later in your pregnancy. Maybe ask your doctor to perform an ultrasound to determine for sure if you are in fact pregnant. Your only other option is to just wait things out and see what happens. Good luck.

Your anxiousness might be making you start your period late and be giving you all the symptoms. Try to relax. Waiting to get or find out if you are pregnant is the longest time of your life besides carrying that child in for the 9 months but its worth it. Good luck.

I'm not sure of your age, but many centuries ago, lol, I was a teen, and my g/f and I THOUGHT she might be pregnant, and she was over a month late. She wasn't pregnant, but we scared ourselves into thinking it, so I think some is just mental stress. By the way, I was so stupid at the time, I'm not even sure if I actually had orgasm. lol Ron
