I heard on the radio about a woman who was helping catch terrorists and though they didn't give alot of detail, it may still be enough for them to find out who she was. I also hear the news report things, like where airport security is lacking, that seem to invite someone to take advantage. Shouldn't some things be kept away from the public just to protect them? What about copy cat killings, like Columbine High School. Does constant reporting of tragedies invite others to seek the limelight? Does freedom of the press mean everything is fair game? What is your opinion?

I agree with you. The Media no longer operates with humanity or good sense. They also don't operate on truth, facts, or kindness.

They will do or say pretty much anything to get a story.......being first with the most is a good motto for all of them.

Unfortunately we have to depend on them for our news, so that tells you we no longer know what is really going on anywhere.

I think they show the common sense of a pampered chicken.

Remember the cartoon that shook the world. Our media outlets choose NOT to get the high ratings when they realized their own offices might get bombed if they took the risk to publish the material they had the First Amendment Right to publish.

I'd rather have the honor of Dieing in combat, then being old and rich and associated with the irresponsible, ungrateful media market.

If the media outlets ever become the number one target of an enemy they will show the common seance to support the draft because that will be the end of the volunteer army as no one will volute their lives for those ungrateful bastards.

It sounds like you are proposing that we be kept ignorant. What's wrong with pointing out legitimate problems in an effort to shame the people who caused them to owning up to it and fixing them? Most of the time, those types of actions cost money to undertake, so it takes something big like an embarrassing newspaper story to shake things up and goad people into making the situation better. If a serious problem is exposed and the people who caused it do not respond, it is their fault, not the fault of the press.

Media managers now consider news as entertainment -- and they hire newscasters that are usually politically correct -- and are ignorant of economics and weak on math -- and don't care if they mislead viewers.
