Just wondering. I'm 16, around 5'6 1/2 - 5'7 and I am never satisfied with my body. I probably weigh around 125 lbs now because I've gained weight from a stressful school year plus new types of exercizes that I've had to do. I used to be a swimmer, I'm in karate and have been for the past 3 years.

My measurements, at my smallest, were 34B-24-35 and used to be 34B-25-35 1/2 duing the day. I'm now around 34B-26-37 and I used to be 116-118 lbs but not anymore. I'm always pinching the skin on my stomach because fat used to never be there. I hate my hips because I used to be able to see the pelvic bones but now I barely can. I really don't like my weight and where fat in my body is place because I'm a pear.

Please tell me, is this normal? Please don't bash me. Thank you in advance.

Do you guys really think this can lead to anorexia? I didn't think my obsession was so severe.

My mom doesn't understand why I'm like this. I'm also the smallest girl in my whole family here in Texas. Dominicans embrace curves and call me small but I don't see it. It's really odd.

If you gained weight from a stressful school year, think about it- will it change anything if I worry? No. It is normal for a girl to be conscious of her body. Just act confident of yourself. I use to hate my body because I was so skinny, I looked like a boy. After a while, I start to get a curvy body. So don't worry, it is normal.

It is not normal. You are showing the first signs of becoming anorexic. It is good that you are staying healthy for sports, but when you start obsessing over weight and pinching skin here and there it is a sign of a problem. Most women would kill to have your measurements. But you may want to go to a Dr. to get some help, or since you are catching this problem early you may be able to stop it now. Just remember that weight and inches are only numbers, what is important is if you are healthy and happy. Do not stressing over an inch here or there or before you know it you will weigh 60 pounds, be forced to go to rehab and have tubes stuffed down our nose to make you eat. Do not let it go that far. Talk to a professional and find a good diet and exercise regimen that works for you.

I know many people will disagree with what I have to say but.....it is my hatred of fat on myself that has allowed me to stay relatively thin my whole life! What you described I have been doing for many years! I think that if I were to let up or accept the fat I would be huge now! My whole family except for me is overweight. Now about you, if you use your dislike of the extra pounds to mobilize yourself to do something about it I don't think its a bad thing, not that I advocate holding yourself to impossible standards or getting to the point where you do more than pinching.I admit that over the years I have adapted a bit ,what I expect from myself to include a little acceptance of certain things it would be ghastly hard for me to change, but overall I try hard to keep thin and fit. You certainly are not fat now, but you are the one to decide how you want to look and feel. You don't need other people telling you "oh, your weight is fine" that's your decision. SOOOO.....Don't beat yourself up but do the most you can to be what you want to be. Good luck!

Yes, it's perfectly normal. For both guys and girls.

When I was in my teens, I thought I was too skinny. Now, creeping up on middle age, I feel like I'm too fat.

Truthfully, 99.9999999% of the world's population is dissatisfied with their looks. The small percentage who look perfect are terrified that they'll lose their beauty tomorrow.

Don't worry so much about your appearance; concentrate on being a good person and treating the people around you with kindness. You'll make a better class of friends -- people will appreciate you for who you are, not how you look.

Take care, and good luck.

it's normal. ppl jjust gain and lose weight. there r 3 types of fat: trans., saturated, and unsaturated. you can just excersise to lose the weight. but i say be comfortable with the way you look and more than none will be comfortable with who you are, although there are som assholes around. dust your shoulders off. its no big deal. don't worry about it. and sorry about that old cliche. lol
