i weigh 167 or some where around there and i'm 13 and all my friends are really skinny excpt 4 2 of them and i like them the most and and i want to loose at lest 20-30lbs b4 i go back to school and i don't want to take pills bcuz my mom would tootly chew my but out and i want to feel good about my self without starving myself pleez help me i need something else 2 think about then how FAT i am!!!!!!

eat right, exercise. this is the only healthy way. if you strave yourself, you might just end up gaining the weight back. =]

aww. Well first of all you are tooooo young to even start about loosing weight. Look at your family. Are they big boned too? If so, it's just family genetics. But don't ever let some anorexic w*h*o*r*e*s tell you that you need to change something about yourself. If your happy, then that's all that matters. There's a difference between being healthy and heavy, than heavy and unhealthy. Which are you? But when the time comes and your serious about loosing the necessary weight, just exersize and eat right. Do away with sweets and fatty foods. Hit the gym or even the track like 4x a week. But remember, your beautiful inside and out!!

Hi, I'm 16, 5'2 and weigh 143. I have been overweight my whole life and still consider myself to be fat but crash diets (Fast diets) aren't effective if you want to keep the weight off. I think that just trying to eat less, more foods that are better for you, and exercise is really the only way to effectively lose weight. I have lost 30 pounds in the past year by the eaiting less alone and believe me, if I can do it, you can too. Being skinny is not your goal, but to be healthy. I have dealt with teasing and I know it isn't fun to be overweight, but don't strive to become thin because most of these cases just end up in having eating disorders and if you try and eat better and exercise, the weight will take care of itself. Trust me on this.

there is no quick fix to lose weight. a healthy amount is 2 lbs / week.
crash diets and starving yourself, and etc., don't work! you will end up losing your muscle mass, not fat, which is what you wanna get rid of if you want your body to look good!! and you will end up gaining it right back.

the best thing you can do is eat properly -- make fresh vegetables and fruits a staple, whole grains like brown rice, these kinds of things. avoid white, refined sugars, junk foods, white grains, canned foods, etc. LOTS OF WATER and EXERCISE is the key. work out for 45 minutes 3-4x a week and you will feel better and lose weight. also drink at least 70 fluid oz. of water a day -- replace soda with water! exercise doing something that makes you break a sweat.


and mostly, understand that confidence in yourself, regardless of your weight, is more important -- and that you are losing weight for YOU, not for other people. i was about your weight when i was 13 (i'm a woman in my early 20's) and so i can relate to wanting to fit in, etc., but if your friends are going to disrespect you and make you feel badly because of your weight, are they really worth it as friends?

Cut out junk foods and soda. Also, eat smaller portions. The average American portion size is more than double what you need. Your body will get used to the smaller portions soon. Exercise too. Just don't start out doing too much. If you're not into the typical exercises, try a dance class or something like that. Belly dancing videos worked really well for me. Make sure your parents know what you're doing and are keeping track of it. I know you're doing this for yourself, but they can help you if you get off track or go overboard. Also stop eating any thing with sugar, no cokes, only water.
No carrotts, no fruit, to many sugars.

Do more exercise:
2o minute power walk, then do 3 sets of 10 sit ups, with 2min break in between. Then 3 sets of 10 reps of push ups.
Any other kinds of cardio you want, do this 5 days of the 7.

I lost weight pretty quickly when I stopped eating meat. I also started exercising 5 days a week (endurance training with weights, my favorite video is "In Shape with Rachel McLish") along with my regular 1/2 mile walks with my dog. Not only did I lose weight, but I got some killer looking arms.

P.S. You're not fat. Remember, confidence is sexy.

ya....the starving bit sucks. but it works. work out. thats the only way to go. walk at night, or swim. I prefer the starving bit. I can loose 10 lbs in a week, if I only drink liquids.

grow up join the military and get sent to some third world crap hole guarenteed 15 pounds in the first three weeks till then relax there is nothing wrong with your body just eat right, excersise and let yourself devlope into what your intended to be

Run around Vietnam with someone shooting at you with an AK 47. I lost 30 pounds that way.
