Please don't leave angry answers, I'm just curious...
How many pro-lifers (the ones who think that abortion is unquestionably murder with no justification) who are old enough do any of the following;
a) Foster parent and/or adopt drug addicted children or any other "unwanted" children
b) Volunteer in outreach programs for; drug addicts, prostitutes, at risk youth groups, domestic violence shelters, inmates convicted of sexual assult, etc.
c) Volunteer as a Big Brother/Big Sister for at risk teens
d) Do ANYTHING for the cause of preventing abortions other than vote to make it illegal or voice your opinion publicly?
Now, like I asked before, please don't leave angry answers. It's a real question I have - not just my way to tick you off or anything. I've never had an abortion and I haven't stated whether I'm pro-life or pro-choice because I want real answers without the assumption of where I (the asker) stands on the issue.
Thank you.

Since I'm closing this to further answers, I'll tell you my views. I am personally a "Pro-choicer", liberal (but not a "bleeding heart" one) but choose to live a conservative lifestyle.
I wish we lived in a perfect world where only those who should have children are the ones that concieve. But the fact is it's not a perfect world, so I see the need for abortion to be a legal option.
I'm saddened by the reponses of those who feel it's THEIR reponsibility to force the existance of others but feel it is NOT THEIR responsability to assist those they would force to exist.
My words to them would be, "If you feel the need to be in some one elses business, then take responsibility for YOUR actions that you inflict on them. If you are not apart of the solution, then you simply causing more problems. So, have your opinion, live your life how you see fit, but don't force others to live with your values (by voting against abortion) unless you are willing to share with them your knowlege."

Im pro life, I do volunteer as a mentor for teens and have a heart for the at risk teens. I often dream about being a counselor at a teen crisis pregnancy center (pro life), I hope to do that some day.

It's interesting how this argument, thanks to the dumbing down of Americans, is now just about cartoonifying the other side's point of view so that no understanding or discussion is possible. That said, I am disturbed that so many are comfortable drawing an arbitrary line to distinguish what is and is not human and do not address the complications that arise from his line. That might make me a "pro-lifer". This categorization is still phony since I can see the complications of the extreme case of avoiding abortions.
So, yes, I have been a Big Brother for four years. I also volunteered in the oh so evil Boy Scouts, in which I develop the attitude in young men that they act with realization they are expected to deal with the consequences of their actions and not ignore or run away from them. Moreover, that gratification can be delayed for better ends than merely immediate satisfaction. Also, that we don't all have a "right" to pleasure since our pleasurable activites impact others.
So there. I am one of probably a majority of individuals, parents, community members that are aware that pregnancy happens and that it is unfairly the burden of young women. Why do extreme "pro-choicer's" not visably concern about the commodification of something that is fundamentally all of us- a baby?

I know someone who manipulated and influenced a girl to have an abortion twice.
Today this person is mature and focused. He will say that no one has a right to take any life for any reason.
Lets say today I come up to you, I pull a gun and tell you I am going to kill you because my life will change becasue of you.
What would you respond before I pull the trigger of the gun aiming at your head?
The possible solution can be to avoid having unwanted children. Protection. Sexual/ Parental/ Prevention education to teenagers etc..
For the rape victims it is hard enough to carry the experience and memories of being raped, but there is also adoption.
Hope you can see my point as a pro life (once pro option).

Wow, such an unique question. One we've actually not considered previously... enable me placed this available truly sluggish because it type of feels you persons have various complications information. First, somewhat one isn't a murdering scumbag who has dedicated one of those heinous crime adverse to humanity that the perfect penalty could be utilized. 2d, it really is not 2 aspects of a similar coin yet you those who seem to have self belief abortion could be a frame of mind to contraception can not get that through your cranium. Society has the right and duty to manage killers and criminals and the shortcoming of life penalty is the perfect application of societal will. the easy actuality is, and that i'm nonetheless conserving it straightforward so that you adult males stand a probability of records, that the shortcoming of life penalty will be a good device in coping with criminals and in deterring destiny acts were it utilized as written. rather the liberal attitude of backing criminals and blaming the sufferer signifies that we are forced to undergo multiple appeals and stretch a procedure out some distance previous it really is needed limits. lower back i do not anticipate you to pull your head from the sand and face the very incontrovertible actuality that your argument is hypocritical and stupid yet no count number the way you're trying to obfuscate the data they are going to continually will out. No, i do not care what different international locations are doing. No, i do not care that less than a million% of the persons on lack of life row were found probability free. No, i do not care in case you mistakenly imagine that the shortcoming of life penalty has a racial bias. Do your own analyze and locate the position both actual bias actual are contained in the criminal justice equipment. Have an afternoon.

Just because I am pro-life does not mean that it is my responsibility to try to save all the unwanted children of the world. People need to take on a personal responsibility. With that said, I do want to say that I volunteer my time helping innocent children who have been either abused or neglected or both. Everyone, whether you be a democrat or a republican needs to take on a sense of personal responsibility in all aspects of their life.

well it really depends upon circumstances no one has the right to say if a 12 year old girl, a victim of rape should or shouldn't be allowed an abortion. it all depends on the individuals feelings. and i may piss people off with my answer but how many people who say abortion shouldn't be an option have got raped or molested and then conceived. and think of the poor girl being pressured. teen suicides are at an all time high. who is there to blame? the society which made them this way. it's close to rapture its a hard time for all.

i think that aborting a child is sickening to my ears. children are precious gifts sent to us by GOD whoever aborts a child is a lost soul. i dont like the fact that people abort kids because they dont want them. if your woman enough to open your legs then your woman enough to push the baby out. ther are so many different things you can do its rediculous.

Its not the responsibility of the pro-lifers to take care of children that irresponsible people have. It's their responsibility to not have children they can't take care of, and if they do, they have to grow up and take responsibility.

All of your suggestions are good but you must understand it can be a social or economical problem or issue that a woman finds herself in. We all make mistakes and sometime the situation can not be avoided.
