Sometimes I feel like I would have been better off living a long time ago before technology. I was just wondering if anyone else shares the same feelings as me. To me life is too fast paced nowadays and people dont take time to LIVE! Alot of you probably think I'm strange, weird or just a freak but thats OK, I'm just curious.

I saw on the History Channel the other day that the average American homemaker at the beginning of the twentieth century spent seven hours a day preparing the meals for her family. Since the vast majority of us women would be homemakers if we lived a hundred years ago, I would say no.

Also, there was no antibiotics then, and few vaccinations. Many children had whooping cough, measles, polio, etc...Again, I would say no.

I know exactly how you feel. Grew up in a big city, live in a big city now and I really look forward to visiting small towns and the wilderness. I just naturally slow down a bit and enjoy life and people more.

There is nothing more visually awe-inspiring than a southwestern sunset to me. Don't get to see it in the city very much.

I imagine only people who don't appreciate toilets, hot running water, refrigeration, and medicine more sophisticated than ether and leeches, just to name a few. But you could just go to a third world country if you were desperate to experience life without any of those things.

I always wanted to live in another era. I don't like this one. I think I would have liked the eighties and the nineties, but even then it would have been a little to too late.

We sometimes romanticize the past. I am guilty of that myself. If you want, PM me for a small community forum where we do just that.
