Does anyone have any experiences to share regarding these two baby formulas.? I used enfamil lipil with my four y.o and she didn't have any problems. My two month old is on similac advanced and she seems to have trouble having a BM. She strains and only passes a small marble size bm thats green and feels like play doh. (yeah i touched it). I use this formula b/c i receive WIC. I think that i should switch to enfamil. I hope that i am not paranoid
Has anyone used bright beginnings?

Enfamil lipil is way better. Everyone I know including myself has used it and loved it. Similac Advance smells kinda gross and probably tastes gross to babies. My baby was on similac advance for about 2 days because i used to ahve wic and she had diarhea and once i switched back to enfamil, she was all better. that proves that similac is not good. enfamil is better!

I use the enfamil with lipil and my 5 month old is having the same problem. She is my third, my second had the same problem and i was told that they need to let their digestive system get used to formula because they were used to breast milk. She did after a few days and she is fine. I think they just need to clean out their systems. I would go to a website that lets you ask doctors Q's, they are real helpful to me! Hope it helps

I like enfamil a lot better than similac. I noticed the same things you did and on top of that, the similac clumped together and would clog the nipple. I get enfamil from wic so I know you can get it. Just ask them to change it.

When I couldn't breastfed anymore, I used Enfamil because it has more DHA & ARA (that is found in breastmilk). Also, Similac is very clumpy when it's mixed, Enfamil however dissolves faster and no clumps. Great customer service too.

well..i had the enfamil and it was terrible. I am also on wic and i recieve the gentlease which I still dont like but i've tried just about everyother kind.

The one formula I do like is the Nestle Good Start. They tolerate it well. I'm not sure if WIC does the Nestle formulas. Anyone know?

I would suggest before you go to the wic office to make a trip to the baby dr and get a prescription because the wic office has a contract with similac thats why they put the baby on that formula.

Most baby formulas are fortified with Iron which is important for infants. After about 4-6 mos. the iron received thru the placenta is gone, and babies can become anemic if they on formula and do not get an iron supplement. I would suggest trying prune juice and water when you notice the constipation. It works wonders. The ratio of juice to water is small. I would call your doctor to get the amount you should give to a 2 mo. old. Good luck and I hope the little one feels better!

I suggest going back to wic with your remaining formula and tell them what's going on with your child. Ask them to switch formulas. I prefer enfamil over similac, because I had a similar situation with my son.

your baby is constipated. whenever their poop is solid like that it means that they are constipated. my daughter is on enfamil lipil and she does very well with it. maybe you should try to give your daughter enfamil lipil, only after you ask her doctor though. plus you will need a doctors note for WIC if you want to change the formula.

The iron in the formula is what is binding, enfamil is given to WIC recipients. They are close in makeup, its just a different brand. I work with newborns and we use them interchangeably. No difference, you can always contact your pediatrition if you have any concerns.
