You need to make sure that you get rid of ALL the fleas in their environment, that's your house and your yard. Be careful what you use, you may want to ask your vet or pet store about what is safe to use around the house without endangering your ferret.
Keep a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag. This will kill any fleas that get vacuumed up alive. This way you won't keep reinfesting your house. You need to vacuum frequently for a while to make sure you get all the ones that just hatched. To make sure you got them all, set up a flea trap. It has a little light on it that will attract any remaining fleas to a sticky trap. It won't get rid of all of them, but it'll show you if you have any left. You can do the same thing with a bowl of water, a couple of drops of Dawn liquid and a light.
Bathing a ferret is perfectly fine and most products that are safe to use on kittens will be safe for ferrets, but just to be on the safe side ask a professional again(vet, pet store).
A ferret that has fleas that go untreated runs the risk of becoming anemic and can actually die from continual loss of blood.
Fleas will hitch a ride on any warm blooded animal available and come from your yard into your house this way, so treat your yard as well. Don't let the ferrets on the lawn until after the next rain to make sure it's safe for them.

I heard a tea tree oil or orange extract will get rid of them. Since you are not supposed to bathe ferrets, it is a difficult task. Also may want to try Avons Skin SO Soft spray. It is lightly scented (unlike the ferrets themselves--LOL) and has been proven to keep fleas and ticks at bay.
Good Luck!

Hi there.
My ferrett had bad fleas and ticks.
I took him to the vet and he gave me so wash solution which got rid of the fleas and helped to get rid of the ticks, after the vet had removed the ticks.
Hope this helps.
