i was just wondering if light is the fastest thing, my reasoning is this, because of how we are measuring it, we are using 2 other tangable elements, ie distance and time so how can it be faster if both time and distance are already there?

You misunderstand the "rule" about light being the fastest thing. The limitation is not about speed, rather it is about the transfer of information. It is been known to scientitst that group velocity of light can exceed the "speed of light". So the "speed of light" that we are talking about is the speed of information transfer.

So what does that mean? It means that when particles (matter or energy) travel, they are limited to a certain speed because particles convey information. This is analogous to us using radio waves to communicate, or TV signals to send video and audio, etc. The point is that most things in the universe like photons, electrons, etc carry information, so they are limited to a certain speed (186,000 miles persec).

However, we have made measurements that indicate speeds greater than 186,000 miles persec when there is no information transfer involved. Please read the following excerpt from Wikipedia for details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faster_than_light#Apparent_FTL

Um...yeah...what? ok....

Light speed, or the speed at which light travels is the fastest speed known to man.

Distance and time are not tangable they are just numbers man uses to keep track of things.

Hmm, some wikipedia swallowers on the following lower back. relies upon what you advise by using darkish. Which little bit of the EM spectrum? certain absence of EM radiation at 2 and somewhat circumstances 10^8 m/s is sweet for lack of light even though it really is really a lot not available to discover real darkness everywhere in the Universe as there is continually hydrogen radiation at merely over 1GHz.

No, light is not the fastest, and I know this from experience. I once was working in a department store, prior to the doors being opend for a Washington's Birthday Sale. When the doors opened, the store was IMMEDIATELY filled with pushing, shoving creatures, that were every place at once.

NOOOOOOOOO... light is not the fastest thing.

THE mind is the fastest thing in the Universe.
The thoughts can travel in an instant from one point of the universe to the other.
There are some oriental spiritual pathways which claim that "If you will be able to stop youe thoughts, the object of your thought will be materialised" ... well.... I don't go further because we 'll enter very deep waters.:)

Light is very fast but actually the fastest thing known to man is Wallace Thumpfred/ Wallace was actually timed to be .0015698789654 second faster than light.

Its probably the fastest thing... KNOWN to man. But not the fastest thing out there.....

No.
Tachyons move faster than the speed of light.
Your "reasoning" is not only flawed, it's silly at best.

Time and distance don't move. Light does.
