i thought everybody knew. the same behavior is
assertive when done by a man and aggressive when
done by a woman.

Assertive behavior is forceful but considerate. It allows you to know the individuals intentions and there is no questioning their desired outcome.

Aggressive behavior is manipulative and cooercive. There is little to no respect given and the outcome will turn out as desired because it will be forced and no one else will be happy about it.

The above answer is good - very insightful. Aggressive is perceived as pushy, forward, blunt, the aggessor forceful in wanting his/her own way despite opposition from whomever they want stuff from. Assertive is speaking out in a non offensive manner pointing out what the individual wants and sees.

assertive is when you're trying to get something done and you "assert" your power, aggressive is when you have harmful or malintent towards someone in your behavior, hope that helped
