To take chewing gum off clothes, place the item of clothing in a plastic bag, then freeze it for about an hour. Take the clothing out of the freezer, then bend the fabric across the stain to crack the gum. Chip off the pieces with a dull knife. If that doesn´t work, let the gum return to room temperature then dampen a cloth with dry-cleaning solution, lighter fluid, salad oil or peanut butter and rub on the gum, then work it off with a dull knife. Launder as usual.

1. Scrape away as much of the gum as you can using a spatula or spoon (to protect carpet fibers).
2. Vacuum or brush away loose pieces.
3. Rub the remaining gum with a plastic bag filled with ice until the gum is frozen.
4. Chip away the frozen gum fragments using a spatula or spoon.
5. Dissolve any final traces of the stuff by dabbing with a small amount of dry-cleaning fluid. Blot.
6. Blot on a detergent solution of 1/4 tsp. mild dishwashing liquid and 1 cup (8 fl oz/250 ml) warm water.
7. Rinse thoroughly.
You can try this remedy to remove gum from clothes or shoes, too.
Some citrus-based products, such as Orange-Sol or De-Solv-It, break down the stickiness of gum so that it is easier to remove.

Put the clothes in the freezer. Sounds goofy, but it works. When the gum is frozen, it becomes very brittle and breaks into little pieces. Just scrape it off with the back of a knife blade, then wash as usual. The next step is to threaten to put the gum-chewer in the freezer if they don't take gum out of their pockets before they put their clothes in the wash.

Peanut butter, olive oil, corn oil, that's all well and good but then you got a nasty grease stain and you'll smell like a 3rd grader's lunchbox.
Ice MIGHT work, but it won't get all the gum that will be imbedded in the fibers--and everytime you pick at it, you are pushing more sticky gum-poop into each thread.
Suck it up and pay a professional to remove it--take it to the cleaners.

Rub peanutbutter on it if not allergic--the oil will break up the gum. Option 2--freeze it with an ice cube and scrape it off with your fingernail or knife. Option 1 works better. Good luck!

Freeze the garment. This should make the gum hard. Then you can peel/scrape it off.
