Italys group was the hardest and France along with Spain groups were easy. Another hard group was of course Argentina. Actually I would pick this group over Italys because the US is simply horrible so in Italys group there were only three formidable oppnents. Srbians are better than the US.

Group C was the hardest; you had one of the South American greats (Argentina), the most promising African team (Cote d'Ivoire), an European veteran and old foe of Argentina (the Netherlands), and a second European team that looked pretty good in the qualifying stage (Serbia & Montenegro). Maybe SMG didn't do so hot in the actual group stage, but it wasn't until after the Argentina - Serbia game that they stopped being a threat.
Group H was the easiest (for Spain, at least).
