While it is possible, it is unlikely when used properly. Granular lime is used to raise the pH level in your lawn, ie. to make it less acidic. Therefore lime is an alkali, and could harm an animal that breathes in the dust when applied. So here's how to do both... keep the dog inside, then apply the lime. Water it in well, so that the dust drains down into the lawn. After a day, the dog can go running on the lawn again. If you need to do both front and rear lawns, separate them by a few days. Do the front and let the dog run in the back, then switch. Check with your vet to be certain.
