my dad is extremely ill. he has colon cancer, but it's spread to his kidney, & both lungs. he is going to probably pass away very soon. i know i'm just saying it straight up, but i'm taking it extremely hard. I'm only 15 years old, i still need my dad. He is too young, & i was just wondering if any of you had any uplifting quotes, or miss you quotes, inspirational quotes, anything. this is the hardest thing i've ever gone through. i have almost no hope anymore, please pray for him! chances of him living are very slim! but please..pray for him, even though you don't know me

I thank God for every day that you rise like the sun.
Each new day is a cherished one.
Many of our loved ones are already gone,
But our time together is still going on.
Each day is like another one more chance
For us to get the steps right in our life dance.
The stepping together of a daughter and her dad,
I just hope that some of our steps have made you glad.
We have walked through each others up and downs
And shared hugs and kisses, smiles and frowns.
I carry you always in my thoughts and mind
You are in my heart, deeply entwined.
The years we have had have been beautiful ones
And with each day a new door opens.
I have told you enough that I love you
Always thought somehow you knew.
Today I take the time
To tell you I love you, Daddy of mine!

A poem I really loved meant a lot more to me after someone close to me passed away. It's by Robert Frost (it is also read in the old movie "the Outsiders")
NAture's first green is gold
her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower
but only so an hour.
So leaf subsides to leaf
so Eden sinks to grief.
So dawn goes down today
Nothing gold can stay.
to me it meant that the person who passed was gold and I was lucky to have them in my life but they were so precious that they could not stay forever.

Your journey has been long, and now must end.
Your life has been full and rich with love.
Your friends have been many, and warm and kind;
enriched by the example you've left behind.
Go with joy to a better place and a new beginning.
Go in peace and know that you've made a difference along the way.
Go in comfort, for all you've been, remains to stay.

If you will respond to my email address, I have a poem that I say at most every funeral I do, and I will forward it to you. Unless this breaks the Yahoo Answers law.... Put "poem" in the subject line so you don't get deleted. I will pray for your dad and the entire family.

I'm so sorry for what's going on in your life... I wish there was something more I could do to help you and your family.
I know couple of quotes, I'm not quite sure which one is right and/or which one to pick...
"Please believe you're all I ever wanted. If you shall leave I don't know what I'll do. I'll be like a child afraid of darkness. My greatest fear will be of loosing you." (from the movie "Black Dog")
"You're my anchor in the stormy seas of life. You're my wind beneath my wings. And, you're the main reason that makes my life worth leaving." (I've told my Husband this when we just met)
"Remember when..." (you can add anything you'd like)
"I love you. I'll miss you. Please don't give up... I need you more than you can possibly imagine." (for anyone on any God-given day)
On the brighter side of the problem there IS a real solution to this, and make sure you have your Mom or anyone else in your family to help you out with it. DON'T take "no" or "maybe later" for an answer! It IS urgent and his health depends on this (do your best not to delay this)...
-- Find a *Alternative Medicine and Therapies Clinic* near you that might have a caring Professional to help you out as soon as you possibly can. They are available anywhere: from CA to NY and from WI to TX. They might even have them in Hawaii and Alaska. They have: Chinese Herbalogists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, and many other ones that have the highest degrees in Medicine, Anatomy, and Psychology, and they're all qualified for treating anyone at any time using the methods they've learned in the specialized schools. Tell him/her that it IS an emergency and tell them to come over to where you live (if you can't take your Dad to that location) and see what they can do to help your Dad. It might be dangerous to transport him to their location, even if it is in the next town. No matter how severe a case is they will be able to do something to help him to ease the pain and suffering, or might even cure him completely. They don't use any other medications of the modern medicine, but what they do have is the Natural Remedies which include: Herbs, Herbal teas, Minerals, and Herbal Medicine. All of those can heal, cure, and even protect anyone's weak organism from any further harm. Every patient would have his/her own program to follow. And, you will have to follow it to the letter of every word in the directions. However much they'll be asking for their services in the end, it'll be worth the result. Just to let you know, the costs can run up to $3,000 to $7,500, depending on the clinic... During the healing time and process, try not to think of anything bad or worry too much on how you'll pay for the treatment. Clinics like that usually might have an affordable payment plan that can fit anyone's budget.
Tell your Dad NOT to give up, he can and will beat it! Think positively and don't let anyone tell him or you otherwise... negativity (even though some call it "realism") is NOT helping anyone at all. Encourage him to go on and live through this, he needs all of your support now more than anyone realises. He's a strong guy who can make through anything life will throw at him. Think of this as a flu that has to go away so that way he feel better and enjoy the days of sunshine and warmth. Tell him that you're planning his 100th Birthday party and you need him to be there :) It'll be one of the millions of reasons for him to get better and something else to look forward to. The most important reason for him to get better is: He has you and everyone around him who love and care for him with all of their hearts and souls. Guide him through this and he'll be able to make in no time.
God bless and protect you, and guide through these difficult times in your life. May everything turn out for the best for everyone in your life. Best of wishes and take care.
Please don't worry. Everything will be alright.
Please let us know how everything is going by. We're here for you whenever you'll need us.

DAD,
I CAN NOT PROMISE THAT I WONT CRY,
IF YOU SLIP AWAY OR DIE.
I CAN NOT PROMISE, TO TAKE OUT TRASH,
OR THAT I'll ALWAYS TAKE A BATH.
I CAN NOT PROMISE YOU TODAY
THAT I'LL BE HAPPY IF YOU PASS AWAY.
I CAN NOT PROMISE TO BRUSH MY TEETH
JUST LIKE THE WAY THAT YOU TAUGHT ME.
I CAN NOT PROMISE I'LL GO TO PROM
OR BRING THE RIGHT BOY, HOME TO MOM.
I CAN NOT PROMISE I'LL HAVE A CAREER
OR PUT A TATTOO DOWN ON MY REAR.
I CAN NOT PROMISE THAT I WONT DRINK
OR KISS A BOY WHO FLIRTS WITH ME.
I CAN NOT PROMISE ON MY WEDDING DAY
THAT I WONT CRY WITH JOY AND PRAISE.
I CAN NOT PROMISE WHEN I HAVE KIDS
THAT THEY WONT ACT LIKE SLOPPY PIGS.
I CAN NOT PROMISE WHEN I GET OLD
THAT I WONT LIVE IN A NURSING HOME.
I CAN NOT PROMISE
AND I HOPE YOU SEE.
YOUR JUST GONNA HAVE
TO STAY WITH ME.......................................
I JUST WROTE THIS POEM FOR YOU. AND ITS YOURS TO KEEP....

One of my favorite quotes is:
Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Good luck to you and your family in this time of hardship.
