Our dishwasher has less than 1/2" water left on the bottom after each cycle. The water is clean as are the dishes. When I hit the drain button, the water drains out fine. Is this something to worry about?

Is it possible that the drain line is too long? We just installed it not too long ago and my husband thinks that's the problem.

You shouldn't have any water left. We just had the repair guy out because we had the very same problem. Turned out that because of all the mineral and lime deposits from our water, the drain on the dishwasher was getting restricted. He used a liquid cleaner for ice making machines (like in restaurants, bars, etc) and poured some in and let it run thru a cycle and the problem was gone. He said people try vinegar, Lime Away, CLR and those kind of products but none work as good as the icemaker stuff.

Check where it's draining. If it's going into a garbage disposal for instance, the inlet might be too low and some of the water is coming back into the dishwasher after the drain cycle. It was happening to my inlaws and they just moved the drain higher. You shouldn't have any water left standing in it when it's done.

Generally most dishwashers leave a little water. It's left behind to keep the shaft seal from drying out during the drying cycle.

Well, the boy water is as normal as the larger population because they are not affected by the girl waters' "cycle". The girl water is as normal as the larger poulation because it is AFTER their cycle.
