its the teacher, when i was in 8th grade i was on the verge of failing, and i think it was partially because of the teacher and also because i had 90 minutes of math everyday and after a while i stopped paying attention and math is hard as it is, and having a good math teacher is extremely important.

I was awful in math, but I was actually very proficient in English, grammar, writing, and debate classes in high school. I am a painter, sculptor, I play piano, flute, I quilt, and I design things.
Just explain to you teacher that "you are a lateral thinker, and not a bilateral thinker."
Which side of the brain do you favor?
Reasoning functions such as language are often lateralized to the left hemisphere of the brain. Dyscalculia is a neurological syndrome associated with damage to the left temporal-parietal junction[1]. This syndrome is associated with poor number manipulation, poor mental arithmetic, and an inability to understand or apply mathematical concepts[1].
In contrast, visual and music functions such as spatial manipulation, facial perception, and artistic ability seem to be lateralized to the right hemisphere.
Other integrative functions such as intuitive or heuristic arithmetic, binaural sound localization, emotions, etc. seem to be more bilaterally controlled.[2]

I hate math, simply because most teachers don't explain it clear enough or do not work with the student to help them understand basics. And it seems way to difficult

Back in the 50's and 60's, when I was in school, the teachers
were "sharp" or "smart", and we did learn from them.
Today's teachers have lost something along the way.
And it's disappointing to see the results of that failure.
Tackle math as if it were a puzzle, make it fun to figure out
things....you will go far !

I always found math to be easier because it is not subjective. There is one definite answer and the teacher can't say you are wrong when you are right the way an English professor can.

Math was my hardest subject in school, I never could understand what the teacher was talking about and the whole fundamentals thing, I just couldn't get it all straightened out in my brain......

I feel success in math as in any subject is all about how much effort the student puts in. Once a student finds the motivation to succeed then he or she will.

I have never had problems in math. I have never studied in my life and I get straight A's. With the occasional B in gym (health problems, don't even have to participate so I get a B) Everything just comes naturally to me. No work for me at school

Math loves us but we hate math for it is a little bit hard. If it stick to your mind that math is hard to understand, you will grow that math for you is really hard. But, at your young age it is in your mind that math is easy, that will be forever. Sometimes, I find math is hard because of the signs and etc. But math is really easy because, you don't have to memorize.
bye!
Regards,
i love math
