Are you joking. The first lesbian couple to be 'civilised' in Scotland UK are already separated.

Divorce in America has absolutely nothing to do with gay marriage. Where do people get these ideas. The divorce rate in this country is totally connected to the heterosexual world currently. The only thing that would happen is if gay marriage were allowed the divorce numbers would grow exponentially based on the mere fact that there are more recorded marriages. People are people and it stands to prove that if you have more marriages, you will have more divorces.

Most likely, yes. Explanation:
Divorce rates are based on mathematical ratios. So, if 100,000 people get married every year, and 50,000 divorce every year, the divorce rate is 1 out of 2 marriages. Gays are less likely to divorce - then tend not to marry for stupid reasons like they "have to cuz they are pregnant" or because they got caught having sex by mom and dad, etc. Gays marry for love 9 out of 10 times. Straights marry for money, financial gain, personal gain, status and occassionally love.
So, if gays were allowed to marry, there would be 150,000 marriages a year, and only 50,000 divorces. Now, the divorce rate is 1 out of 3.
However, the important thing to realize is: WHO THE F CARES about a divorce RATE? I mean, its not like you get a free toaster oven for staying married. What will reducing divorce rates accomplish?? Absolutely nothing!

It is unlikely to have any effect on divorce rates. But we can't know until there has been time for long term research.
The closest thing we have to compare to is Denmark.
Denmark has sanctioned gay marriage since 1989. Thus we have an opportunity to look at longterm numbers.
The divorce rate for heterosexual couples is 46%.
The divorce rate for gay couples is 17%.
However, the percentage of marriages gay vs. straight doesn't place a major effect on the overall numbers.
That said, marriage rates among heterosexual couples have actually increased in Denmark and are at the highest levels since the 1970s.
There are polls out there that will point to out-of-wedlock births in Scandanavia as a result of their same-sex policies. However, those are slightly deceitful. There are higher rates of out-of-wedlock births in Scandanavia and they have gone up. This is true. What they're not telling you is that many of the out-of-wedlock births are to common law couples. Thus, Scandanavian children spend 80% of their lives living with both parents, compared to 60 - 65% for American children.
Some actual facts on the issue. Hope they helped.

the well-known public of gay marriages contain no toddlers, so as that argument is nonsense. If that have been the only component of marriage, ought to we ban marriage between people who're infertile? do we tension human beings to divorce consistent with loss of offspring? Ban marriage over a undeniable age, perchance? the completed "they can't have toddlers' argument is a purple herring. the fact is that people who use that argument are homophibic and/or non secular bigots. Now, on the venture of divorce: sure, that's preposterous for anti gay marriage proponents to apply 'the sanctity of marriage' argument while merely approximately a million/2 of all marriages lead to divorce. Te corporation isn't sanctified, that's an earthly convenience, actual thrown away while the choose arises. it fairly is in user-friendly terms a fact of existence. the fact is that we can't 'cut back the divorce fee. you will be able to desire to in thought circulate back to the old days the place a divorce became puzzling, yet who does that serve? that's better to tension a pair to stay mutually while they do no opt to? No. Does that help the youngsters? No.

You dont think gay couples would get divorced too? I think they are just as bad if not worse. Sometimes I wish they had the same problems straights have. Losing half is not a good thing. All the scheming and gold digging that go along with marraige should cheapen things for gays, just like it does for straights.

No...allowing gay marriage would increase the probability of divorce by providing more couples to split...so the reasonable assumption is NO.

no. i don't think so cuz even gays have their problems and would probably end up divorcing as well if they were married. i have never come across any proof that gays are better at marriage than straight couples are.

initially, possibly, because right now, without the right to marriage, gays do stay together more often that straight couples, but as they are integrated into their rightful place in society, they will be exactly like everyone else, so eventually, they'll be right back where they started. doesn't mean that they shouldnt be allowed to anyway, though.....

no... why? if gays get married there is strong evidence that their marriages will fail just as/or more often than a strait marriage. I am offended that some believe Homosexuals are "more in love" or something
