i accidently cut myself with a vegetable peeler 3 months ago (it was about 1/16 of an inch deep) and now i have a raised but slightly pink scar on my finger(where it bends). i am going to see a dermatologist today to check it out but am wondering what he will do and if it is normal for a scar to be hurting when hit?

Chuckie's answer is most likely: Vegetable peelers can do that kind of thing. More than once I shredded myself on one.

There's also a chance that you damaged a nerve: That cut was deep.

i have a scar that required 3 stitches on one of my fingers. for a while after i got the stitches out it hurt like hell if i banged it but eventually it stopped and it's been kinda numb in that area ever since. i think you'll be fine but see what the doc says.

I don't know what the doctor is going to check it out to make sure its healing properly because if it hurts when you hit it on something it just means that the cut is still healing.

Maybe you got some metal or something under the skin and it's irritating it. Dermatologist - good idea.
