While it is true that growing from seeds will be a *huge* time investment, you can do it. In fact, there are several places on the web that will sell you the seeds! If you have your own, though, why bother? The refrigeration should not hurt it - it just mimics the winter period, but you actually need to do a very rigid time and temperature to get the seed to sprout. I think picchick is right... besides, even if you COULD, you'd run into several issues. First, it's gonna take YEARS before the tree would be mature enough to bear fruit. Once it WAS old enough to bear fruit, you'd have to be sure your tree could cross pollenate so that you'd actually get fruit. Otherwise, you'd just end up with blossoms.
