Flights TO Tokyo from San Francisco typically take around 10-11 hours.
Flights FROM Tokyo to San Francisco take around 9-10 hrs.

The conditions depend on the *time of year*, weather/wind conditions (i.e. depending on tail wind), and which designated route the pilot decides to take. There are certain set routes the FAA has mapped out and those are the only ones the pilot can select from. But typically within a certain airline, they typically only choose one or two of the routes. It can also depend on the wind or traffic conditions at the destination airport (Narita in this case) as I've seen several times (I fly this route often) where the pilot has to circle in the air until it's safe to land.

8-12 hours depending on the airline, route and direction of travel. Crossing the Pacific for a weekend vacation is really not a sound idea. Business yes, but not for a vacation. Take more time to allow recovery from jetlag and just because exploring a new country's sights and sounds will naturally take more time than a quick jaunt within the U.S., which regarldless of its size, is a very homogenized society culturally.

You will leave on a Friday and arrive late afternoon on Saturday (local time) after about 11 hours. (remember they are a day ahead or 16 hours). If you depart on Sunday evening around 4 Pm you will arrive around 9 AM the same day. A weekend isn't really enough time

10 to 12 hours. You will lose a day when you get there but gain it back when you return. It's not worth going over there for one weekend alone. You need a minimum of 6 nights over there to see the great places. See if you can get a longer vacation.

About 11 hours. I would stay up late and sleep the whole flight. BTW take a pen to fill out the immigration card. Also go to the service counter and as how to get to the next place you need to go, because not all the terminals are in the same building.
