Bright eyes, snow-white skin, red cheeks and lips, and fair hair. A lot of the makeup contained lead, but here is a site that should help:

I would think that some of the things they used were from nature, like berries for lips and cheeks. I think I read some where that charcoal was used for eyeliner

Lead based powder... Works great to cover smallpox scars but it kills you.
