Watching Dave being interviewed, I can see how America has lost it's collective mind, and how American Idol has become so popular...
Time and time again, interview after interview, review after review...why Dave? Why did you NOT sell-out for $50 million dollars, we just don't understand, we cannot comprehend how money was not the most important thing in the world to you!!
Yes, it appears there are a LOT of people who will do ANYTHING to make a buck or have 15 seconds of fame. Just look at that garbage they pawn off as 'entertainment' called reality TV.
Thankfully, my favorite comedian did not sell out! And i commend that to anyone who sticks by there beliefs(even if it does not validate mine!)

Dave has common sense. He is strong enough to know when someone (the industry) is trying to corrupt his integrity. There are many hoops that people jump through on a daily basis in the entertainment industry which those who have never worked in it, have NO idea what is expected of you. Dave always knew there was a right way to do it, and a wrong way. He always knew that when it wasn't fun anymore he'd step back. It's the only way to keep your sanity in a crazy messed up business like the entertainment industry. It's not necessarily about selling out, it's about keeping your artistic integrity that matters the most to an artist. Dave worked too hard and too long to get where he is to be dictated to by the "cable/network/entertainment system".

uhmm...you kinda negated your own question by answering and then ending in a bit of a rant there, I think. Putting it that way, I agree; I'm glad Dave didn't sell out. I saw the same interview (the one with Oprah, I'm assuming). It sounded like he wouldn't have had as much creative control if the show kept going the way it was planned to. I think his most loyal fans would have been able to tell. Sure, it would have still been a funny show, but the loss of soul would have been discovered sooner or later. I believe that he saw the trainwreck coming and bailed while he had the chance. Who knows? in the long run, he may have made the best possible move.
Maybe. Just maybe.

Yes I agree with you 110%
I love Dave way before that show and glad he didn't sell out and actually stands on his values. Him and the Beasties are about all that is left "I won't sell myself for a t.v.ad"

Well, he would have definitely had no control over what he does with his show.
Would you want to be a rich robot?
