First off, go to Celtics.com, if you would like to verify the following. Parrish, also known as "the Chief" played center for the Celts during Larry Birds' hey day. Yes, he was very good. He was a good all-around player. I'm not sure if he is a native of Louisiana, but, I do know that he went to Centenary University in Louisiana. He was as a stated earlier, a good all-around player for the Celts, one of the most famous, if not the most famous sports teams ever. The Celtics once one 8 consecutive NBA championships. The coach of the year award is named fro the President of their team, Red Auerbach. He coached the Celts to 9 championships, himself. The Celts have won a total of 16 championships. Some of the players and coaches who contributed to these championships include, Arnold "Red" Auerbach, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, JoJo White, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Hondo Havlicek, Bob Cousy, Nate "Tiny" Archibald, Dave Bing, Dave Cowens, Dennis Johnson, Sam Jones, Don Chaney, Ed Mc Cauley, Bill Sharman, and, Tom Heinson. The Celtics are a true dynasty. I never really liked them growing up, but, if you like the game, then you have to respect what the Celtics have accomplished, and, I do.
