Are you against the partisan bitterness or having multiple political parties in general?

Yes, the partisanship is quite annoying. Many political issues, such as health care, are very important to people. Everyone wants to win not to be evil, but because they think they are right. Since multiple sides believe their way is the best way to help people and run things, fighting occurs because everyone wants to fix things. I'm starting to believe it's unavoidable. Even the little issues cause such fierce divisions because they are lumped to the same platform as the big ones.

Okay, imagine this:
Rather than having two parties fighting for control during and election, suppose there were hundreds of independant representatives running the government after the election.
Either the constant discussion/debate/arguments would paralyze the whole system because no majority has any kind of a plan (being independant and all) or, people would start to ally themselves with others who thought like themselves and BAM! you have parties again.

It's not perfect but you can't dump the whole system. Maybe a little tweaking however,...

Ok. There is a spell check... all you have to do is click the words "Check Spelling".

George Washington was a great general, but not a forward thinker. Read about Thomas Jefferson. He was the father of the political party system in the United States. He understood the future of politics and the need for the party system. Find a book at Amazon and educate yourself. In fact, reading might just help your spelling ability.

Somehow, I guess I'll just have to go on living in the knowledge that George Washington is disappointed in me. I hope I can endure the heartache. Maybe I can recompense and make him a shiny set of new wooden teeth. I take refuge for my decision to elect a political stance by some of Washington's other comments:
"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily."
"As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."
