OK, to invade Iraq all it took was a few bad Intel reports of WMD's and a few incursions in the no-fly zone and a accusation of being involved with terrorists and off we went to Iraq. Now here we have North Korea.A nation we never stopped being at war with.Just a very long cease fire.A nation who has threatened us.A nation that we have a huge amount of Intel that proves they have a nuclear missile program that gives them the strongest WMD around and they don't deny it and now have test fired 7 of them in violation to international laws. They have made more threats against the US then any country has in ten years. They have stated any sanction against them will result in war-a clear threat. They have been known to sell WMD's to questionable nations at best. And they are the most likely nation to be the biggest threat to the western sea-board of the Continental US.What else does North Korea have to do?Is it because they don't have any oil that Bush stalls on action or what?

They don't need a real reason. They can just invade.

It is the kind of action that can precipitate a far-flung war.

If the US attacks, Russia and China will go on the side of N Korea.

Considering the prestige we currently possess, no one will help us, and we are in a weakened state with our forces scattered about.

North Korea HAS been involved in terrorist acts and the support of terrorism in other countries. They still harbor members of the Japanese Communist League/Red Army Faction & still have Japanese captives that were kidnapped as students.

North Korea just fired a missle capable of carrying a light nuclear payload in the direction of the U.S. mainland, something Saddam Hussein NEVER had the ability to do. (Thankfully, the DPRK missile was as effective as a Scud, but its message is very clear. And they actually have nuclear weapons, which Saddam did not.) The DPRK could destroy a number of major cities in East Asia, where Saddam could barely pull off an invasion of Kuwait AND was pretty much impotent to cause any real threats to the U.S. ever since the first Gulf War.

North Korea was, and is, a bigger threat than anything in Iraq. Let's see how Bush does with a conflict he didn't reportedly desire since before his presidency (or perhaps he's one-trick pony?)

After this latest violation of international law, I wouldn't bet that Russia and China are going to come sprinting to the aid of Kim Jong-Il should we take action. Of course, to take action, we'd have to hold off on invading any more oil-rich countries (whose leaders aren't tied to the current administration.) But right now, the only ones who are truly alone are the DPRK. It's foolishness not to wonder why more decisive & effective action hasn't been taken regarding North Korea. Iraq aside, the DPRK is a big problem that needs solving.

It could be that North Korea has not been a credible threat in the past nor is it at this point in time. North Korea, however, is ruled by Kim Jong-il, a certified nut case. Once it does develop a long range missle (the test failed, by the way) and a nuclear warhead small enough to arm it, the US or any of a host of other countries may feel forced to take action. I assume it will have to be the US and, possibly some other Pacific nations, because the UN is useless.

Reason 1 - North Korea has WMD's which they quite willing to drop on their age old enemy Japan.
Reason 2 - North Korea has NO oil or any other useful resources worthy of exploitation.
Reason 3 - North Korea continues to have China as its protector and no in their right mind would start a war with China.
Reason 4 - Bush is not in charge of Foreign policy, Cheney neoconservatives are and they have no interest in the Korea.

This is almost too simple for complicated minds -
1. Iraqi - Reported WMD's & NO NUCLEAR weapons
2. NK - HAS NUCLEAR weapons but no delivery system.

When a nation is a memeber of the NUCLEAR CLUB, they have to be handled differently than a nation with conventional weapons.

Simple enough, right?!

a real war with hundred's of thousands of americans killed in a few weeks would make america wake up from the dream ,
35% of americans are in dream land these are government employees and i suspect it is hard to figure but more like 40 % work for uncle sam .post office , , police , fire , teachers , colleges , law firms contractors prison guads you name it the government is paying for it .retail jobs pay less then home construction which pays less than managers which are paid less then any state or federal employee and the non government workers have no health care pensions or the money to save.
Sure if you work for one of the top 1000 companies in america you may have benefits but only above 40,000 a year jobs and 40% of these 1000 get 90% or better of all there money from the government.
WITH so many firmly behind bush they will see this is not a game , where 10,000 may die , and everyone gets a little more money, from the working man, no harm no foul really .WE could be in a war with huge casualties and some may be right here if they have the chance to nuke us ..
we now face this threat of a nuke coming into our country by rocket or smuggled in but some day soon i am affraid we will have a nuke dropped on us from one of these countries unless we back off and quit trying to rule the world .
We are not that much better then everyone else we just do it from a golf course or a 100 million dollar building .they do it from a tent in the desert and do not mind dieing for the cause .
which we could avoid by saying we are sorry and leaving them alone .
I do not carry a gun to the grociery store to get the best price on food and have 3 guys with machine guns standing with me going are you sure thats the best price-- i had in mind a dollar is that ok with you .
WE have terrorized the world and it is finaly coming home to roost on us.
HOW long till gunboat diplomacy blows up in our face , it is soon i beleive and if prayer would help i would pray but i have lost all faith in religion .THEY to have lied so much i no longer beleive them.
KILLING IS WRONG .
STEALING IS WRONG
banging your neighbours wife it takes two to tango ?
LIEING IS WRONG so if your neighbour asks you did screw his wife tell him.
three simple ways to keep the world in a state of peace .
IF i let you in my home will you screw my wife ---if you answer honestly and say yes--- i would not let you in and send you to someone i know would not mind.
IF you attack iran for me will i be your allie forever .IF I SAY no saddam does not help and works for a fair deal .we have lied cheated and killed everyone we have delt with .
WE are not a christian nation we are killers and the world is tired of us we have no support and the english are going to pull away soon too.
I am prepared for the worst all ready and have 6 months worth of supplies stored but only enough for my immediate family no inlaws or brothers wife and kids only .
I have warned others but if they fail to prepare it is there own fault.
WE will end up in the middle of world war three soon .

You are obviously well informed (sarcasm).

I guess you don't realize that half the world is worried about N.Korea and their missle testing.

Maybe you trust a guy who claims to have hit 11 "holes in one" the first round of golf he ever played, and to have been born under a double rainbow and bright star, but most of the world does not.

As for your Iraq ignorance, i'm not sure I have the time to educate you. But for starters Iraq was givin sanctuary, and aid to terrorist, including Al qaeda.

Let's review one more time.

Iraq was isolated. NK has a nuclear protector called RED China.
Before we go to war w/ NK, it is entirely likely that they will have to attack the US or Japan with one of their crappy missiles. China would then be forced to wash their hands of Mentally IL Kim or Dim or whatever his name is. That's when we would take him out.
